M+M M10x range gun updates

Well, I took the plunge and had the CSC 'Smith spool me up a 12" Barrel on a CeraKoted ODG Receiver with a Lage (Fixed) Buttstock. Basically I wanted a modernized "Krink" based on an "improved" AK long-stroke action in the M+M M10X. The M10X is actually far more SIG 550 than it is AK, but whatever - externally it has visual AK cues based on the Magazine and Receiver Shape.

I happen to have 3 Lage Manufacturing Buttstocks on hand at home, all equipped with variations of the Lage Folding Mechanism. So I was able to "rob" a Lage Universal Folding Adapter from one of my PCCs to go between my new "fixed" Buttstock and the M10X's Lower Receiver. Works perfectly, as you would expect. I have replacment Lage Manufacturing items as well as a new Cheek Riser enroute via mule-train from A Z T E C H Armoury. Those parts will arrive some time in December, but at least the A z t e c h s have been reliable to date!

You can really tell the difference with the M10X's new milled receiver. The the M10X has easily the smoothest "AK"/SIG 550 style of action that I have ever felt. Even nicer than my Galils or Valmet M76. Definitely nicer than my Russian AKMS. This 3rd Generation of the rifle is extremely solid, with zero rattle or play between the various parts. It would seem that among other things, M+M has addressed the slop/loose tolerances that used to exist between the (formerly cast) steel Receiver and the outer aluminum Handguard. Things are nice and tight when you slide the parts together or apart during Field Stripping. The AK-style Trigger is quite good, with a bit of take-up followed by a solid "wall" then a fairly clean break. The Hammer now strikes the Firing Pin with extra strength thanks to the new coiled spring that M+M has finally adopted.

I am very much looking forwards to first rounds downrange, likely tomorrow!

Awesome! Can you link me that folding stock adapter? Looks like there is a few options out there.... Would love to see more stock adapters for M10X carried by CSC.

I know some folks arent too keen on it, but would you mind being a little rough on her? Curious to see what happens if you get dirt in the chamber / ejection port. This was my planned purchase before seeing the R18 MK3.

Sorry - no chance for dirtying it up today, as I was on an indoor range for the initial live-fire session. I zeroed the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x SFP scope and fired a total of just 60 rounds of brass-cased, commercial PPU 7.62x39mm soft-point hunting ammo (no steel permitted). To my pleasant surprise, the M10X gobbled up the soft-points without complaint! It ate all 60 rounds fired from Magpul P Mag 5/20s without complaint. There were zero issues with the M10X during my initial range session. Zip, nada, zilch. All went exactly according to plan. I don't know about you, but that makes for a pretty good day on my end of things!

I will get back to the outdoor range where I can tear up some Norinco Red Box (non-corrosive) ammo as soon as the weather permits. Hopefully later this coming week. I will post some groups and give an accuracy and reliability report. If it will eat those soft-points, I have a good feeling about FMJ feeding just fine. Watch and shoot....

Here you go (hopefully the filter doesn't censor out the address.....):

Here is the complete Left or Right Folding Buttstock for 1913 Picatinny attachment:

Edited to add: the missing letters are A z t e c

You are gonna need that entire Stock and Rear Trunion Assembly (pictured above) to go from the Lage attachment system to the Zhukov Stock. Sadly, there is no 1913 interface for the M10X Buttstock (as yet). Either Buttstock is a solid choice, especially once CSC gets the straight Folding Adapter in stock. I tried the Folding Adapter with 3-degrees of cant, and it put the Buttstock way too ffar below the ejection port to the point that it projected below the line of the rifle. The straight folding adapter does the trick nicely with the M10X, placing the top strut of the Lage Buttstock just along the bottom edge of the Ejection Port.
