Ahhhhhhhh nooooooooooo!

There is no reason not to cut off the top of the FSB and file it down to a low profile if you're set on sporting a long handguard, you won't find a better gas block for your gun.

Getting the tapered pins out was the hardest part, I ended up using a larger punch to start them(1/4") and once they were flush I went to a smaller punch. On my rifle the smaller side of the taper was on the ejection port side. I also removed the gas tube roll pin and pushed the tube back so I could twist and pull on the front sight without damaging it. I also put oil on the sight/barrel the help the process.

What's the quality like on those Truenortharms free float rails ? Price is very tempting but I don't want Chinese junk .

Replace the 4 cheap pot metal screws with steel ones. (The 4 that hold the two halves together.) Canadian Tire has them but they are in the specialty cabinets, not on the display posts.

The one on my rifle(post#12) is from True North. I don't have any experience with any other brands but this one seems solid and it fit great. It comes with a barrel nut and misc. hardware. I bought the crows foot wrench for the barrel nut from them as well. It's a 15" and I think was $110.
