Dose your M&P-22 have a slots in the thread protector to be removed with supplied wrench?Mine dose not.Is this to comply with Canadain law?I would like to remove it at some point to lubricate barrel threads against rust.

Yep, Canadian law requires that it be permanently attached. Remove it, you'll then have a barrel that's less than 105mm.
 
Mine is the same with a spent casing date of Nov 2014 so I guess it's nothing new. I may never have even noticed if not for this thread. Wonder why we still get the wrench?
 
got out the calipers.
barrel with cap on is 107.09mm
i measured back from the end of the cap to the end of the barrel (inside) and that is 2mm
so without the cap on the barrel looks to be 105mm plus a little.

handguns with a barrel length of 105 mm or less

so wow this barrel is close without the cap on.
id really like to take it off to get the exact measurement.

Heat it up and VISE GRIPS wil get it OFF ! :rolleyes::popCorn: lol RJ
