M&P 9 mm any good

Most of the complaints were for the trigger... which is an easy fix with an apex aftermarket unit.

Depends on the price for the MP 1.0. I'd say that if the 2.0 is less than 100$ more, go for the 2.0, which has the same trigger as the 1.0 "Pro" series MPs.

I have one, and a .40 as well. I don't shoot them often, but I like them. They are comfortable, well handling pistols that are dirt cheap right now (I know....I'm taking a huge loss on selling my extra one).

I had a couple, one with the apex kit,one without.
The only thing I didn’t like was they patterned like a shotgun:)

I think the SDVE is the better deal.

M&P, meh... I liked how it felt in the hand, but I could not hit anything with it. There are many polymer guns which I found better, most around the same price point. But obviously, YMMV, try to get your hands on one, even better if you get to shoot it.

They are a great starter striker fired pistol if you can grab one used on the EE with a low round count at a good price. If you are looking to try out the striker fire style this is a good place to start but if you are looking for something you will wanna keep I would spend the extra couple hundred and grab a used glock 17. I've owned the M&P and I found it felt cheaply constructed, it went bang every time but I ended up selling it after a few trips to the range. I am currently trying to decide if I want to grab a glock 17 gen 5 but haven't quite decided yet.

When our 4 man team won the Commissioner Wood trophy for the national service pistol championship at the DCRA/NSCC matches at the Connaught Ranges, two of us shot M&Ps, one a Glock and one a CZ.

I had a few of them, got my first one back in 2007. They're ok, sold mine when Glock came out with gen4. No regrets and no going back.

Late model M&P 1.0's are accurate, look for the dimples on the barrel. The latest barrels will have one or two dimples below the chamber and will have a 1:10 twist as opposed to the longer 1:18.75 twist. S&W also addressed and improved the lock up in the new iteration dimpled barrels.

Mine is as accurate as I am and has been a work horse. Taken several courses with it. Several hundred round days where accuracy counted. Is it a 1911 9mm? Nope. It holds up just fine in my G17 Gen 4s company.

The CZ and glock did all the heavy lifting. Lol JK.

Gen 1, well depends on how old Gen1 they would like the other have said. They sometimes pattern like my open choke 12ga. The later ones ( gen 1.3) were a bit better, new trigger, sear housing, different barrel.

I had to get rid of my Gen 1 because for the 2 years that i had it, the first barrel shot 8 inches low, 2nd barrel shot 5 inhes low, 3rd barrel shot 3 inches low AND left. In the 2 years that i had it, 3 range trips and it went back to the distributor and cut my loss.

My 2.0 5inch however, would give my old 9mm 1911 a run for its money. Dead accurate POA POI up to 20m. Small grouping like my P226, coupled with the Gen 1 m&p 45 apex competion kit ( not the duty carry), awesome short reset and a 2.5lb trigger.

I have the 2.0 in .40 and it's fantastic. An above commenter said the triggers are the same but they're not. The 2.0 is superior in that regard.

the m&p 2.0 was my first pistol purchase , i shot a 1.0 later on and the trigger on my 2.0 was by far better. There is not that much of a difference in price so if i were you i would go for the 2.0. its a great shooter , was my favorite untill i received my glock lol

It’s more of a backup to my glocks I just happened to get a great deal on it and was curious what everyone thought never really played much with one

Once again - I have a 2007 M&P (early) with an Apex sear and 56,000+ rounds through it. It shoots just fine, and has been rock solid reliable. They are sensitive to grip and trigger control - to some degree all pistols are.

I have a later model 1.0 M&P40c and the trigger is fantastic for a striker fired pistol. I had an older CORE and the trigger was mushy garbage. I was very surprised by the compacts trigger. I always liked M&Ps but bought Glocks because of the triggers but the newer ones are good to go.
