I've only shot 124gr reloads in my M&P9 and NEVER had a single FTF or FTE...
Had anyone ever sent any SEMI-AUTOMATIC to Wortner? Are they competent?
I'm on my second M&P, yesterday I was at the range shooting Winchester Ranger 147 XTP JHP through it - 100 rounds flawless, 50 rounds AE 115, flawless and the last of my CF 124 Grain from 1967 also perfect. The weather was far from perfect- ice pellets, rain and a nasty frigid wind (for Victoria, that's bad) and the pistol was soaked and icy from getting left on the bench. The previous pistol went 1600 rounds without so much as a hiccup.
Have you tried firing those rounds (those EXACT rounds) in another 9mm - it wouldn't be the first batch of bad Winchester out there, beyond that send it to Murray Charleton. Murray's being doing autopistols since the M39 was common, he's more famous for his revolvers but he does a ton of autos, and he's the Smith guy for western Canada. Oh yeah, and Don't Panic, it's not the end of the world unless it's your issue sidearm![]()
What happened to yer first M&P?![]()
We are having extraction problem with winchester factory 147gr over the last 700 rounds, whether it is clean or dirty. If the Glock and others can work on it, then the M&P should work on it too. I don't have time to do merry go around to collect a world variety ammo to figure out what it likes or it doesn't like. If it cannot eat a major manufacturing offering, it is junk. I won't count on a pistol that won't take a common offering by a major manufacturer.
It is going to be a mess...the gunsmith dude gonna test fire it with whatever he has and tell me the pistol works ok....and then I gonna explain it doesn't work with 147. Sounds oh so familiar. First sign of non-cooperation I gonna make S&W buy back this pistol.
I too, have recently purchased a S&W M&P 9mm and am totally disappointed with it. I have malfunctions starting around the 50 round fired mark. I have tried different types of ammo as well and also agree that being a new firearm it should fire without any problems regardless of the grain count! I've tried firing the same ammo in a different 9mm and have had no difficulties with these other firearms. It's not the ammo
