just got my M&P 9mm and love it, cant put it down, its actually sitting on the couch beside me right now.LOL just wondering about the little bit of play between the slide and the frame, is this normal??? this is my first polymer framed handgun so just wondering what to expect, can I get it tightned up or is it good to go the way it is, I will say thanks to all the members that persuaded me towards this gun, the fit and finish is awsome and dont regret it one bit, but like anyone with a new toy they tend to pick out any flaws right away.(probably just paranoya) lol. any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks, cummminsdsl

If you hold it up at the right angle, you can read the newspaper through it too. ; )

As long as it goes bang every time you pull the trigger, though, it's all good.

mine does the same thing, the only part i dont like is that i've noticed a little rust on the extractor part on the frame. not sure what part thats called but i know now to at least keep that part well oiled. other than that i love mine.

The M&P locks up at the ejection port. The play in the gun will have no effect on accuracy. Mine has over +2K rds through it with absolutely no issues. Excellent pistol you will not be disappointed.

Take Care

I think the play is a 'feature', not a 'bug'--designed to let crud fall off the rails.

BTW, what's a good, cheap Kydex holster for the .40/9 M&P?

Hi
I have the M&P Pro in 9mm and I like the gun fine but the trigger has quite a bit of creep. Is this normal? Will it go away with use or do I just have to get use to it?

i just picked up a s&w m&p9 from the gun dealer in mcadam nb, they had an uncle mike's law enforcement concealment paddle holster on for $49.99. i love the holster, and it fits all three different models of m&p (9mm, 40, and 45) love my m&p so far, haven't been to the range yet as i am waiting for my att to come in the mail, but so far i love mine! good choice! cheers

And if you install the large grip, the pistol will feel just as glocky as a Block. Best of both worlds!

After looking at several options (Glock 17, Ruger SR9, Taurus 24/7 and M&P 9) I've decided to go with a M&P 9 for my first handgun. It's the one that felt best in my hand. The best price I've found so far is at Badger Arms ($599). Is there anything I need to know before I pull the trigger and buy one?
