M&P Upgrades

^Thanks for the info. The gunsmith installed it for me and was in kind of a rush so he must have forgotten. I'll check with them when I bring it back this weekend to get the dead trigger fixed.

Great info guys. I gave up shooting my M&P due to the trigger feel causing me to shoot inconsistently. Started shooting revolvers more. I'll look into the Apex triggers as well. I love the feel of the M&P but have never been a fan of the trigger pull.

Do it, you'll have no regrets! I did my research and was a little skeptical that it would make that much of a difference, but it's a dream to shoot now. I bought the MP9 for my wife, when she first tried it at the range, she wanted me to sell it, the trigger was that bad. Post-apex trigger kit, she loves it and I actually like it more than my P226! Nice smooth and short pull. It was only my wife's 2nd time at the range and even the RO was impressed with her shooting, she was hitting bullseye 75% of the time.

I have a couple of M&Ps, both with APEX parts competition parts. I also run the aluminium trigger on my CORE. I know you can get very good results with modifying the stock parts, but the APEX kits are easier for the regular user.

Besides the trigger parts, I have an RMR, grip-tape from DoubleTap Sports, and Arredondo mag extension.

That looks like an a$$-kicker of a blaster...

Well I brought it back to the gunsmith. The person who worked on it was not there, another employee says there is no spring holding the takedown lever in place, it's just loose....but when I look at the parts schematic, it looks like there should be a retaining wire?

Also, they don't seem to think it has to do with trigger reset point. They seem to think the sear deactivation lever is dropping down sometimes for some reason...they will take a look at it next week. Does this explanation make sense to you guys?

Did you re-install the little spring that holds it in place? Bet you didn't.

I lost mine the first go around. It's a tiny thing, easy to miss. Have a supply of 3 replacements now thanks to Brownells.

That explains the loose take down lever but not the dead trigger syndrome.

There is a spring that looks like a wavy wire that retains the lever. The "other" employee has no idea what he is talking about. It sounds like your gunsmith may have lost it or just missed it. Anyone who has worked on an M&P knows it is there. The guns are easy to work. Armed with a pin punch you should be able to take the gun down to it's frame. Who is the gunsmith?

Ya, I had the dead trigger syndrome with mine after installing the FSS as well. Tweaked the candy cane thingy too much. Back it off a smidge.

No need for a smith to be involved.

What's the name of the part you're talking about (sorry, I'm new to firearms)? I brought it back to the gunsmith. They were unable to duplicate the problem and said the sear is non-adjustable. I'll take it back to the range and try again
