so when confronted with a reasonable debate you flee rather than defend your undefendable argument?
If you have a point what is it? All I see is somebody who is advocating gun control as being a good thing. All because they "feel" some guns are more dangerous than other guns.

Did a little reading up on US gun laws regarding FA weapons. It seems reasonable, I mean fingerprints, and crim checks, etc... by no means do I want to see FA weapons at the gun shop being handed out to anyone who wants one. Special training is also a great option for those people who want to use\sell FA weapons too.... As for tanks and artillery and whatever else all these Rambo wannabe's want to have is ludicrous. When someone else's "fun" could blow up my house from 10 miles away we've got a problem and I don't care how "fun" it is. You do not have the right to threaten me, my safety, and family.
Here's hoping they step the line back so I can get a real AR and hunt with it... that's MORE than enough to make me happy, friend. The only thing I want to be able to do with a gun is hunt or maybe a little plinking anyways. And even with that I prefer bow hunting

That, it easy. If I had a misfire with a pistol It MIGHT make it through my wall, and only 1 projectile. A black rifle, like any rifle or shotgun is the same thing - 1 projectile. (or many tiny projectiles) How is that not obvious?

So you want some training and background checks and what not. So that means myself and any other RPAL holder are good to go. But wait, I can’t get one. Why is that. Oh ya, because of people like yourself.
Why do you think someone is going to take their tank and blow your house up for $hits and giggles. Like I said before I could blow your house up right now if I wanted too but I and the vast majority of people are not like that. Criminals are criminals. They disregard laws as a way of life so why do you think banning something will make anything better.

Well, there sure seem to be a lot of people in the US that pose no threat to anybody by engaging in organized shoots of machine guns and field pieces...again, check out Youtube. What makes you think that somebody legally vetted to use these things is going to go off the deep end any more than someone legally vetted to use a pump shotgun?
Personally, I've never seen anyone with an Uzi in Canada, because they're illegal and you get a hefty sentence for having one. If they were legal, the guns would be readily available for criminals to chose from. So instead of Mr. 711 robber buying a pistol he buys an automatic weapon instead, it's supply and demand. If they're available, people will buy them. And yes it sucks for law abiding citizens who want a machine gun for whatever reason, but It's a sacrifice I'm personally willing to live with.
I can do anything I want to do with a Semi-Auto rifle\pistol\shotgun, and so can anyone else IMO.

Why would you be playing with a loaded pistol/rifle in your living room? That would present a very real threat to your neighbours. And why would you assume that if a neighbour had a field piece that he would point it at your house while loading it in his backyard? It sounds like projection.
I'm saying it's possible. Not that it's GOING to happen, my point is what if someone makes a mistake? As a society, we need rules that apply to everyone, even stupid people that #### things up for the rest of us. It sucks, but it keeps more people alive.

But Joe criminal in Canada can get whatever he wants. If 70% of guns used in Crime in Canada come from the US what makes you think they don’t have Uzi’s, MP5’s P90’s and anything else under the sun. The reason you don’t hear about it is because the media does not want to report these types of firearms being confiscated. It would show how big of a phuck up the registry is since FA has been banned for over 30 years. They want people to believe all crime firearms are from Canadian people.
And just because you can live with restrictions and impositions being placed on you by the government you served for 5 years to uphold it does not mean the rest of us will.

Everything is possible. Did you know more people in Canada die every year from malpractice than firearms. You are 100 times more likely to die in a vehicle accident than from a firearm. If you are so paranoid maybe you should barricade yourself in the basement. I prefer to live my life the way I see fit as long as I don’t plan on harming anyone else’s rights and freedoms who is to say what i can and cannot do.
A very Valid point - I'm not trying to change anyone's views on FA or restricted weapons. I do love a good discussion though! My opinions aren't likely to change much, (although they have some) and I would expect nothing less from the other people on this site. I may have had my "line" bumped back a little further even, I still don't agree with belt fed machine guns, or explosives - but I could see how a FA RIFLE could be RPAL... Maybe I'm just fondly remembering my C7 PWT days and looking for some way to relive them.
I'd love to see any military "style" SA rifle get taken off the Restricted list, as well as pistols as far as I'm concerned. Restricted could mean, more than 1 bullet per trigger pull and include the pistol training in the regular PAL course....
