M1 Garand Stripped Receivers $49.95

After a quick and impromptu "get Kodiak an M1" I have deemed this project as economically unfeasible. Every major part I priced ranged in the two hundred to high three hundred dollar mark! Which included the previously mentioned op rod. Then you have to get it across the border!

That's the conclusion I came to a couple nights ago. Unless you get lucky, you're looking at $1300 worth of parts after taxes and shipping is calculated. You can save a few bucks here and there... this may be a good build for someone with a lot of patience and time to stretch it out.

I'm just hoping there are some Garand imports on the horizon instead. If not, I'll gladly continue being Garand-less but $1600 richer.

Same with me, got excited and now its catching up with me. I'll keep the receiver so I can say I have a Garand haha.

If anyone that is doing the build still, I have a complete SA bolt coming to me that i will be glad to sell once it shows up.

I've been regretting having sold my Breda M-1

Good pal 'o mine, he grabbed a fresh v-barreled danish beretta .... from LeBaron for under $300 , way back when. I walked out that same day emptyhanded ... fool!.
All these years, been lusting. (man, does that thing ever shoot!)

Come hell or high water .....

Yes, I bought 2, then priced the parts wrong move , well over $2000. so they will collect dust or be sold, buying a complete garand is the way to go if you can afford one! If those mythical garands ever hit the shores, perhaps then!

Yep, I got mine in Milarm (Edmonton) for about $350... I think it was taxes in. Sold it because I was moving to New Zealand where you can't* have a CF rifle with a mag bigger than 7 rounds - I think the capacity limit was set there specifically to exclude the Garand.

*Kiwis can actually own these things, as well as fully automatic firearms, but the "vetting," storage, and security system requirements get steeper and steeper as you go from "A" cat firearms (sporting rifles and shotguns) through "B" cat firearms (handguns) and so on up to "E" - fully automatic...

It will be very interesting to see how many actually make it to a full rifle. I find it unfortunate to hear all the buyers remorse that is happening, but I guess that is bound to come up when something like this gets the hype it did in the beginning. I am looking forward to a long term project, should be fun searching out the parts and learning a few new skills along the way. Hopefully guys will post pictures of their progress and details of their parts finds so we can keep each other motivated!

I am sad that I will not be partaking in this project anymore, but it all came down to I wanted other things more. The Garand project would eat up a bunch of funds, and then sit for long periods of time, and I'm not at the point in my life yet where I can have large chunks of cash tied up in unused projects.

Good luck to everyone out there, glad to see more Garands come to be because of this.

They are all pretty much gone. When parts etc start to arrive in future shipments I will post them in a new thread.

Just an update on these. Some people should start getting these as early as tomorrow but I'm sure the majority will start to arrive early next week. You'll be emailed a tracking number as we enter them into the system....many have shipped but we haven't entered them into our website yet.

Most of these appear to be Danish marked as well. I'm not cherry picking for people but I've already sent out at least a dozen that appear to have never been installed.

Cool! Here is hoping I get a Danish marked one. I have a Danish stock already! Haha

I ordered 2 thinking it's going to be a year long project not in a hurry but they will get done have some parts here but lacking barrels and op rods. Might be time to harass my New York friends for some parts

I hope everyone likes grease! I still have some Breda ones available, the link is in the first post.

Any idea what types of parts you will be getting in those future shipments and about how long till they come in? Been looking to gather up the parts I need but would rather order from you than all over the world. What you can't get I will look for.

Care to share where these came from? or is it classified?
