M1 Garand Stripped Receivers $49.95

Just ordered... let the battle for op-rods and bolts begin...

What have I done...?

Hopefully we get to see those Korean Garands, or at least have access to the pieces. Granted, by the time I finish this build we may even see the dispute settled, with M1's on the shelves for $650. :)

I forsee a huge amount of stripped receivers, staying stripped. I doubt people understand what their getting into.

For the cost and time of trying to build a M1, why not just buy a completed firearm.

Because it will be an interesting project to work on over the next year or so. At least that's why I am doing it.

Because most M1's on the EE are headed north of $1500, even for mix-masters.

I'm not looking at completing this within the next year, or even more. Just buy a few new parts here and there when they pop up.

I ordered one of each as well. When I start finding parts and have secured mine, I'll post where and how much. This is going to be a great winter project!:dancingbanana:

So, a project that could take more than a year; potentially leave you with even more useless parts, and will add up to more than the cost of an assembled rifle, appeals to you? To each their own.

I will say this, I will give mad props to anyone who can complete this difficult project in one year, on a reasonable budget, and have a fully operational M1 at the end. I will pony up some boxes of 30-06.

Bought one of those SA bolts off ebay, came to $80.32 with conversion and what not. I think this will be a 308 (7.62) build, will this bolt work for that?
