M1 garand

I still argue that many people don't know what they are worth. Looking at people selling most have put any M1 Garand up to 2200$ without any consideration towards the rifle itself. Some are varnished, some are original but not best condition, etc.

Hopefully people wise up and don't buy them at that price, but a fool and their money are easily separated.

How many chome-lined enhanced M1's made by fulton waded ashore at Omaha beach in 1944 again? Or how many were at the Cho-Sin reservoir?

Oh, right... none.

A modern fulton gun is not a collectible and collectibility, not shootability, is what is driving the current (crazy) market.

I paid $1500 for a nice garand a few weeks back, currently that's about the most I'm willing to spend, but many will spend more and that's their prerogative.
 
Meh, Most Milsurps in Canada only seen the inside of a crate or are refurb from a bunch of mismatched parts.

I dont buy rifles to collect :) So for me the Fulton was a better option. If someone wants a real M1 that will collect dust in a safe a collectible M1 is a better option.

I've got a great M1 I paid $250 for 15 years ago. Would have made a great 'collector' but I bought it to shoot and hunt with. Then things went nuts and now they're sky high. "Supply and demand" at work?

There's nothing wrong with the Fulton gun, but its price is fixed and they can still be bought from Fulton.

Originals are not made anymore and demand has outstripped supply, so the price is going up, up, up... ridiculously so. Your Fulton gun will not go up similarly anytime soon, no matter how nice it is. That's just the way it is.
 
As long as it goes Pew Pew im happy :) Im not one to buy guns as investments so that why I jumped on the Fulton to add an M1 to my poor excuse for WW2 gun collection... lol..

Should fit right at home with these guys, Im still missing a Mauser tho ! but my gun budget is dried up for the year :-( ( I just paid 8K in taxes unfortunately :-( FML )

I bought one from Weimajack a day later for the same price. June 44 receiver with a June 44 barrel. Excellent bore and nice cartouches on the stock. And I wanted a rifle that was surplus. Not something put together by my brother. Not that there is anything wrong with that if done properly. I'm very happy with it as I wanted a WWII dated rifle. I also bought one of the Beretta rebuilds he sells. It's really a new rifle with a new barrel and I'm planning on shooting this one.
I watched EE for a long time and there are good rifles from time to time but I always miss them. I've seen nothing comparable to what I have for $1500 though. Not that there are not out there.
If you know of something comparable to what I bought for $1500 PM me. I'd be very interested.
