M10x Unboxing

Haven't been following this thread but just read thru the last 15 pages, I do gotta say that if this was happening to my rifle after 300 rounds it would be sent back to where i bought it from for full money back refund, or at least in store credit, imagine what is going to look like after 3000 rounds? 10 times the damage pictured. I'd get out before this rifle literally eats itself and your pocketbook up completely

You are late to the party, as we have already beat this topic to death. Those marks are all cosmetic in nature, aside from the peening which is occurring to the aluminum Action Cover at the corner with the ejection Port and Cocking Slot. I expect that the peening will soon subside. In any case, nothing whatsoever is being "eaten up". Take a look at a Swissarms rifle after 300 rounds without protective tape around the Ejection Port and you will see similar cosmetic "wear and tear". The only difference is steel casings hitting a steel Receiver on the Swissarms, versus steel casings hitting an aluminum Action Cover/Handguard on the M10X.

If I was stoked on the rifle but didn't like the dings in the finish...... I'd be tempted to take a small file or stone and make that whole area bare aluminum.

Or just shoot the gun?

As for mr imagine at 3000rds. it will be fine, the gun will be fine, the finish might wear off, if you wanted a showpiece might i suggest putting it in a nice glass case and never touching it?

2 min with a stone would do a better job then waiting and hoping the random ejection pattern evened out.... Personally I'd probably just leave it dinged up and except it for what it is and isn't.... But who am I kidding.....if I buy one it will be used, pre dinged and at a too good to say no price.

Thanks for letting me try out you M+M Bartok5. I like this gun, its more solid than any AK pattern rifle I have shot... cool inner receiver design. It was fun to shoot at the gongs and was reliable other than one mag. Unfortunately we couldnt get consistant grouping, there would always be at least one flyer in a 5 shot grouping that would almost double it size from what I recall. For guys #####ing about receiver dings... get over it.... or get a new hobby like hairdressing... this is a rifle, a tool not a handcrafted showpiece.

problem is with ee buyers expecting a rifle to be brand new when in fact they are buying used, so ee sellers get the short stick with large asked for discounts because of such dings

As has been pointed out by the M&M fan club.... some guns are just ejection port dingers it's the way it was done and apparently still is.

Again, not everyone wants to bang around their 2k rifle. You might, I wanted to keep it pristine. I have SKS and Type 81 options for banging around.

you guys do realize AR-15's uppers are made of aluminum and the case deflectors constantly get smacked with brass.... its not a big deal. I wish both of my Swiss Arms rifles remained pristine but they suffer from the same issue... good enough for the swiss army good enough for me..

It is what it is..... definitely not a " selling feature" and definitely not something everyone can appreciate or look past.

It's a nice looking rifle with average performance, it's easy to imagine some might buy it just for the looks and then be a bit disappointed by the dings.

The only way to keep any gun pristine is to lock it in a glass case. If you use your gun... i was gonna say seriously it would get dings. But even bench shooting will eventually show internal wear so even on that front that pristine gun won't be so pristine

I agree this rifle isn't worth 2 grand but any gun over time will wear if you shoot it.

I suggest never buying a swiss or a valmet if this made you unhappy.

True... But I haven't whitnessed any AR 15s with a dinged up ejection port lol. When metal starts to disappear, it's hard to get back! The ejection port aluminum obviously isn't hardened with the level of quality that many other SUB $2000 guns feature..... Just throwing that observation out there!

That is also true about the AR...

How'd it group with 10 rounds or more?

Like I said I don't think this gun is worth 2 grand.

And eport? No. But brass deflector? You bet the finish goes with time. I can show it on my bcm upper. I can show it on my work c7...

Just shoot your gun. I see a well worn gun with its scars as its own beauty.
