M10x Unboxing

You guys really getting hung up on wear marks on a rifle that is made be used?

VZ58, AR-15, Handguns, They are all going to have wear marks after 1000-2000 rounds.

my M10x runs great...accuracy is awesome 2.5"@50 with irons. my first zeroing target with my irons was literally a straight line of holes down the center of the target from the top edge to the 10 ring no wider then 2" as i adjusted the elevation of my irons. runs fine with magpul mags. it is picky about older surplus ammo, had a few failure to extracts at first that i needed to ram out with a cleaning rod, but after about 200 rds and a little lube, she's running fine. it definitely likes fresher ammo better.
my only complaints are about the roughness of the thin band of checkering on the tip of the charging handle, which feels like a saw blade, and that the only way to keep the bolt held open on the range without a magazine inserted (to prove safe) is to remove the charging handle and pull the bolt open manually. the included cheap plastic chamber flag broke under the pressure of the bolt just resting on it the second time i inserted it.

Those who don't think that a US-manufactured rifle with a machined steel upper receiver is worth $2K CAD should simply not buy one and move on, as the M10X is clearly not for them. It is also quite obvious that this particular rifle, like the Swissarms and Valmet, is not suitable for those who wish to máintain a pristine exterior finish despite using the firearm as intended.

What I and other M10X owners have determined thus far is that it is a clever design, enjoyable to shoot (A nod to the superior ergos), reliable and "minute of gong" accurate with 3" groups @100m using commercial ammo and 4" with surplus fodder. The accuracy could be better, but is entirely adequate for a utility "plinking" rifle. What the M10X is not is a "Designated Marksman Rifle" by any commonly-accepted definition of the term. That is just embarrassingly bad marketIng hype. There is also no "Match 2-Stage Trigger, but rather a somewhat tuned and lightened AK single-hook trigger. The M10X ejects just like the SIG 550, from which it's operating system is directly derived. A consequence of that is wear to the finish around the Ejection Port. There is no loss of metal, simply wear to the finish and some minor peening of the aluminum Action Cover. There are pros and cons to the M10X, just as there are with just about any firearms design. To date however, in my estimation the M10X's positves far outweigh any negatives. It does what I bought it to do, which is to reliably plink with surplus 7.62x39mm ammo. For that reason I will be keeping mine for the foreseeable future. Those looking to snag a cheap example on the EE will have to look to a disappointed owner for a pricing break...

For those who have an M10X and plan to shoot it, what are you using for an optic? After 4 range sessions so far, I have settled on a Trijicon AccuPoint TR24G 1-4x 24mmm with Green fibre-optic triangle on a vertical black post. It is a very lightweight aiming solution with excellent glass that is near-ideal for CQB distance to 300m engagements. it is the Green twin of the Red TR24R that I carried on my service carbine in Afghanistan 2008. I figure it worked well enough back then, so why not on a plinker? Other ideas?

Just stick an empty shell in the ejection port with the open side facing out.

Primary Arms prismatic 3x. I removed the spacer, still need to use half inch stock riser.

The only downside, makes already heavy rifle even heavier.

Put 300 rnds thru mine. Not a single issue, used 3 pmags AMD the 1 croat mag that comes with it. People who follow me on IG can see the rifle in action. (Dont have a youtube account and no idea on how to post a vid)

Targets are at 50y using a Holosun HS515GM red dot (no magnification), back pack as rest.

Sighting it in

Once sighted in 2 mags worth of ammo

The trigger is phenomenal and with the some what heft of it double taps and rapid successions of fire are super easy to control

I assume at 100y the groups will probably double in size but for what this is rifle is (its definitely not a dmr) but a slick battle rifle I am more then in love with it.

I'll snap a pic of the wear around the ejection port after 300 rnds but it is not significant at all. Infact it's less then what I have seen on people's new wk180c rifles

They have been making/selling them for a while now in the US so I suspect they have the issues worked out....

Not sure comparing the MK to the WK is even a valid one? Different platform, different price point, etc etc.

Each to their own. What is your point besides trying to stir the pot? Your shtick is tedious to say the least...

This right here what Bartok says.

Hope you enjoy your WK rifle tho.

I'm not stirring any pot FWIW, just commenting on a fair 50yd group. A couple of posts is tedious shtick?

Same from me - enjoy your rifle. Except for the stock (which can be changed) I think it looks great.

What ammo have you shot out of it so far and what’s your IG, DM me if you don’t want it on the open forum. I’d like to see some video of it’s shooting.

Ah yes forgot to mention the ammo, all I used was Barnual 123g and Norinco white box.

I chronoed both ammo.
Norinco 5 shots was all around 2200 fps
Barnual was kicking around the 2400 fps

As stated earlier not a single malfunction.

Another member is posting the vid for me but IG name boolits

Right on, good enough group for me at 50 after sighting in. So has anyone run any Hornady through it yet, will be fun to see what some better ammo or handloads will produce from it.
