M10x...

M10x has some cool ideas too, with some stupid things as well. Both sides were probably dictated by manufacturing limitations. I wish something like this had come from true military design and not from small company with questionable ethic and business practises.

I got the impression from what was discussed earlier here or some other thread that the m10x is like a hybrid of several proven military designs but I do get confused easily I could be mistaken also "advanced nitride and stress relief formula" sounds awesome or is it just marketing bologna term. I don't even have regular nitride finish firearms

There is without a doubt, some highly dubious marketing hype associated with the M10XM. Use of the term "Designated Marksman Rifle" to describe a medium-range 7.62x39mm rifle is optimistic at best. The infamous "Match-grade Safety" is another prime example.of M+M Industries' meaningless and laughable marketing drivel. That said, the M10X does appear to be a solid hybrid design making use of the best features of the AK, SIG 550 and FN FAL (all prohib in Canada BTW). The use of àn extruded aluminum "sleeve" for the continuounsly-railed handguard and dust-cover, mated to a steel receiver is actually quite smart and to my knowledge has never been done before. It greatly simplifies the machining required to produce a "monolithic upper receiver". The fact that the M10X is US made to a decent standard using quality materials is an added benefit that makes the $2K asking price somewhat easier to stomach.

for those who think that Kolashnikov Concern still fits the bolt and bolt carriers individually for each rifle:

not to hijack the topic, but just to prove to some individuals, that Russian ain't vodka+balalaika+bears on the street and bolts fit by hand-you've seen to much of western propaganda, open your eyes

most of the depicted AK's in that video were AK102's and a couple AK12's. Interesting they were demonstrating an 8mm Bren also (?). Not sure why.

You already demonstrated a lack of reading comprehension in this thread, taking things way out of context, inability to have a meaningful argument and ignoring logical statements and facts... The only things left to do were to call someone a troll and make a reference to a video game when retreating from an argument that you clearly lost . You had me worried there for a second, but here you are. Well done, sir!
Hey, there is still hope for you. Maybe after another 16 thousand posts on the internet you'll actually learn to have a proper discussion. But I'm not gonna hold my breath..

LOL. Whatever. If you;re not a troll, please post pics of your "bunch of non-restricted AK's that I shoot regularly here in Canada." and show us how they group better than AR15's.

Maybe you're right - if so, prove it. Let's see some 100m groups initialled by a witness.

Yes it is just as you say and for me the more I see and read about this rifle the more the 2k price feels totally reasonable. I am struggling to show some restraint or self control with this bloody pre order as the last one did not work out for me but it would probably be wise to take a wait and see approach with this one. I would like to know how many on here are pre ordering this rifle or even considering it.

Consider this. M&M is an american company, not the People's Liberation Army.

You can pre-order, sure. Or, like me, you can surmise there will be a virtually limitless supply of the M10X so long as there is a viable market in Canada. I don't see any incentive to pre-oder this rifle. NS has purchased a large volume of manufacturing output from M&M and within a few months of the first imports, they will be everywhere. Likely they will sit in stock at multiple dealers and they won't be scarce like a T81 is.

they don;t seem to be able to sell many of these in the states, so it's not like US demand will make rifles hard to find here.

Heck, I expect them to go on sale on a regular basis once they are here in volume and stocking dealers have to accept lower margins to compete with one another.

Pre-ordering might get you the gun a little sooner, but it's not like it's a limited production run or anything.

Exactly, I'm waiting to see how these turn out and how well they're supported when someone needs one fixed or replaced.
These should be in stores a month or two after the pre-order guys get theirs, I'll wait for them to go on sale for $1500 :p

or maybey MM might just say F-you to the tiny Canadain market and not import anymore.

Lots of hurt feelings and bad press on the M10,
They would not be the first to sour on dealing with the Canadian market.

I'm ready.

Pretty much what you said. Maybe even less.

Seeing how little they think of the canadian market I say good riddance then.

They very well could,!!!! buuuuut I’d don’t seem like the Americans are buying them down there and especially after there increased price.
So I’d say the few cagunnutz that do want them might be there only customer .....at least till we find out how great or ####yy they function.

Lol. It would be funny as sh!t if they backed out of basically their only market.

Americans aren't buying the M10X because they can have a virtually unlimited choice of AK rifles for $600 and up. That tends to satisfy the 7.62x39 "itch" Stateside, but not so much on this side of the border. Hence the M10X, as a Non-Restricted product-improved AK, is an attractive proposition for Canadians. I don't think that we need to have any concern about the satisfactory function of the M10X. The multiple, independent video and print reviews are proof enough of a solid design. Just relax, sit back, and exercise some patience. The M10X will arrive soon enough. Nobody's life is hanging in the balance, except for maybe Michael Meiers'.....

Just relax and wait for them to show up at the stores then, I really doubt there will be a limited supply of these unless NS tries to control the market and price by intentionally keeping them in short supply.
Once they'e flowing into the country they should be as easy to find as an XCR.

An auction on gunborker finished early with a buy now for 1100 yesterday... So who bought it? Lots of low feedback users involved in that auction so guessing a lot of canadians jumped in :p

1100 + 40 to ship to IRG = ~1450 CDN + 5% taxes (72.50) + 25 to ship to Canada + 250 to import + 40 to ship to the door = under 1850 CDN and that's a restricted rifle...
