M14 Bayonet Lug - Just curious... Yes or NO?

It's just personal preference but I would want my Norc has a lug if it won't cost me an arm and a leg:D

Suggestion for my Canadian bretheren, anyone consider importing lugged M14 flash suppressors into Canada from Wayne Machine, Inc. (Taipei, Taiwan)? Group buy from Wayne Machine? I love the ones on my M1A rifles. :)

just a note to all the non-lug supporters: you DO know that;s the way for a plethora of OTHER things than a bayonet to attach- the SUPPRESSOR, the compensator for the m14a1, and the LINE THROWING ATTACHMENT , just to name a few- besides the GRENADE LAUNCHER-

Hi Different,

Thanks for you to chime in!

Do you mind to post the pics on the FH on your M1A?

Do you know the cost of one?

Here you go, here's a photo of a 2008 production Wayne Machine, Inc. M14 flash suppressor on the end of my Armscorp. I've shot a couple hundred rounds through it with no problems. The camera flash lightens the color a lot, it's actually a charcoal color phosphate finish. It is machined to NM inside diameter.

Trust me, Wayne Machine, Inc. prices are very reasonable. As I understand matters, you just need to buy 100 or more pieces. If Hungry or Lazerus are interested, I could give them some additional info via PM. I don't know what your import laws are like in Canada for rifle parts but if someone can import them legally for a group buy, I say have at it.

I'd love a flash hider with lug but no sight..... like the ones on an FN. That way I could have the lug and use one of the gas lock front sights.

I think I might try something with a FN FAL flash hider and see how it turns out.

Matter of fact...I have a barrel sitting here that I want chopped down to 18.5", if I was to buy a FN flash hider is there any gun nut or dealer that could help with the cut thread and install?? Any cost estimates?

Does anyone know if one FN flash hider works better than another?? Three slots vs five or anything like that?

I'm a traditionalist.
The M14 is supposed to have a friggin bayonette lug and it toils with me everytime I pick my M14S up and fondle it. So Barney you are not alone.

Mine doesn't have the lug but that didn't bother me as I wasn't planning on putting a bayonet on. Is it just me or do most of the guys who like the lug not have a bayonet attached? Is it just the look people are after? I could understand if you were actually attaching a bayonet but I have a synthetic stock so "old school" GI look isn't going to be accomplished with a bayonet anyhow...now if I had an original from the past I'd probably want the lug for time period correctness. Just my $0.02 worth (but to each their own...no disrespect meant to any who do like it).
