Hello from Finland.

I'm interested about buying semi automatic M14/M21. Those are more than rare in Europe and i dont know if there's any in Finland so i'm trying to find is it possible to buy one "over seas".

So does anyone know if it's possible to buy M14 from Canada and get it shipped to Finland? I have the lisenses needed to buy it (in Finland).

If that is possible the next question is where to buy one? Norinco M305 would be good too, cheaper the better :) (it's going to be heavily modified)

(sorry about bad english)

PL84,

Welcome to CGN!

Everything is possible... as long as you have the paperwork... In order to 'export' a M14 rifle from Canada. You will need an 'import' permit from Finland.

In most cases, it's always easier/cheaper/faster to buy a firearm that is already in the country.

best suggestion is ask your local gun dealer if he can get you one

They cant, that's why i'm here :)

Yep i know, it's not going be cheap but it's the only choise to get M14 :)... As i said, i think there isn't any M14's here, and if there is, the number is so low that i haven't seen any (and i'm really active at Finlands "shooting scene")... This is small country, only 5mil people here and "shooting scene" is really small, thanks to our gun laws...

So i contact authorities here in Finland and ask how to get import permit for a weapon, when i have it i can order the gun from Canada?

Does anyone know where to get Norinco M305 (M14 clone)?

edit: And this is why i want M14 :)... https://billstclair.com/blog/images/troy_2sopmodm14big.jpg

I believe it's not that hard to get an export permit from Canada. Your government will probably be the one who decides.

Plus which, shipping might be a bit costly...as in no carrier might be willing to do it?

The Norinco M305 rifles are often for sale slightly used on the Equipment Exchange around the $500CAD mark.

Ok, thank you for the information. So now i know it's possible i contact Finlands authorities and start asking more...

ps. Seems like AK's arent permited there in Canada, my AK-74 project is nearly done so i'll post some pictures to drool about when it's done =)... AK-74 was quite a hard to find as is this M14, but found one ex romanian military full auto AK-74 (5.45x39 ofcourse) and now it's at gunsmith who is converting it to semi-auto... Got few extra gadgets already for it, couldn't wait to get the ak74 from the gunsmith so i bolted them to my friends airsoft ak-47 just to see how they look, and they looks great :)... http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/4125/31126210.jpg ... More pics when i get the gun from gunsmith etc :)

But as your a Finn,, from a country that kicked russia's ass twice, are you not in its reserve military and all ready have a selective fire rifle in your closet ready to go, why would you want a copy of the m14 from china, why not get am american one.

And yes AK's are permitted here in Canada, but they are npt prohibited, and not even allowed to be taken out of the house to shoot, there is one varient that did miss the last ban.

Norinco is cheap, and i'm going to heavily modify it (SopMod picture link above), new barrel, you can say i'm nearly rebuilding the whole thing so i think it doesn't matter is the original rifle real M14 or chinese cheap copy :)

And sadly no, no semi-auto rifles in every closet here =)... It's not so easy to get a gun here, shotguns etc "hunting weapons" are quite easy to get but when you want something special you need to visit police station something like 5 times, and those visits are more like interrogates than visits :).. It wasn't like this before but now it's harder when we have two of our own school shootings etc here... Someones need to visit even psychiastrist and get a permit from him to get a gun :p

Exporting from Canada?

If you found a way to purchase every gun in Canada I'm POSITIVE that the government would FIND/MAKE a way for you to export them. The Canadian gubbermint loves when firearms leave this country, means one less that they have to root around and find.

Because Norinco has a better receiver than Springfield one. If he is going to remove the stock anyways, why buy inferior American rifle that costs 5-6 times more?

I feel your pain, it isn't so easy at here either...

You guys can get permits to guns that would be impossible here in Finland, and same in other way... We can buy semi auto AK:s, Dragunovs etc but for a example, gun needs to be 840mm long, so no no for carbines etc :p...

http://www.loppoproduction.net/Asekuvat/167_6785.JPG something more to drool :)... One gun more i'm going to get, actually it's paid and reserved to me in that gunstore, just waiting a lisence/permit for it...♠

You can own real suppressors in Finland right? How hard to get, do they require licensing?

Yes you can own supressors and it doesn't require any licenses... Totally not controlled, you can buy/order them or even make your own. How hard is they are to get, hmm... Not hard but not every gun store sell them (except .22lr silencers) so the repertory is quite small, but you can get one to every gun if you really want (pay someone to "build" the supressor for you if you dont know how to do it yourself)

american laws are better, at least in the states you can have open and concealed carry and own a full auto

:)... It was interesting at Israel too, dunno but it seemed like everyone had a gun and heard some stories about terrorists who got shot simultaneously by 5 sivilians etc... Dunno how much of those stories weren't true but i can say that almost everyone was packing a gun :)...

But the best gun laws are in Switzerland, everyone who is in reserve has his full auto assault rifle home with him :)

I agree about Switzerland, a friend has dual citizenship (Canadian/Switzerland) and spends part of the year in Switzerland and loves his rifle :)

As a happy Swiss Arms 550 owner, I wish I had that kind too.
