I'd recommend Hungry's M14 clinic to anyone who wants to learn more about their M14, particularly new M14 owners. The learning atmosphere is terrific and Hungry is a great teacher who keeps things moving along at a good pace, but always stops to thoroughly answer each and every question. You definitely won't get bored. Bring a notepad as you'll want to have reference notes for later because there's a lot of great information he gives out. The tips and hands-on advice for stripping the M14 will save a lot of time for the newbie owner.
I figure that the tips on tools, parts and upgrades that are needed/not needed, will save you at least $100., and the tips for doing things the "Hungry Welfare Method" will save you at least as much, because he's "been there, done that" before.
In addition to the above, it's great to get a guided hands-on approach to doing things like shimming your gas system, removing your flash suppressor, bedding your stock, tightening up your op-rod, and more, if available, ie: chopping, re-indexing your barrel ,etc.
Also it's great to see the different configurations of M14's. Chances are someone will have something you're interested in and most people don't mind if you have a look at their M14. Want to compare stocks? I was amazed at how light the new Norc/Poly composite stocks are. I also picked up a really good tip on setting up a scope mount, and saw how to glass bed your action (really sorry I couldn't stay for the whole thing).
It's also fun to be with a great bunch of guys who share your interest in the M14 and if you need help with something there's always someone more than willing to help out, lend a tool,or an extra set of hands.
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.(roughly) for $35.00= $5.00/hr.

I'd like to know where else can you get a deal like that?
