It's M14 Clinic time once again. You Bantario M14 lovers may be stuck in McSquintyLand, but (big but) I'm stuck here with you and together we'll have some fun and more laughs!
It's official! Busta Capp is my point man to coordinate the Barrie Hungry M14 Clinic for you Moronto/GTA dudes! This will be our 3rd year or January doing this venue and it's a great one. Super people, fantastic gun club and it all makes for a great clinic.
* Date: Saturday 16 Jan 2010
* Location: Barrie Gun Club, Barrie... along Hwy 90 towards Angus (Los Angus
)
* Cost: $ 35
* Timings: 0900 start - Likely finish up around 1600 hrs
Material Covered:
- Tools for tweaking, tools to avoid, tools that are nice to have but expensive, tools that are overrated and too expensive
- Gadgets that are nice to have, need to have, and useless to have (but I had to buy it to show you)
- Tools that you can make yourself instead of buying, tools that you can have buddies (owe you favors) make up for you
- Stripping the boomstick (you will be surprised at what I can show you)
- Assembling the boomstick, and what to look for so that worthwhile tweaks can be or should be made
- Tweaks that work, tweaks that don't work, expensive tweaks so yer #### does not fall off
- Useless tweaks unless you have more money than shooting ability (many stories to follow at the clinic)
- Common pitfalls, expensive tweaks that work, more ways to ensure that yer #### don't fall off
- Lunch and then tweaking in the afternoon, shimming, pounding out more shims (all hands on activities)
- Lots of networking and socializing all the time. This is priceless (even if the $ 35 only covers my costs).
* Things to bring: your M14, some basic tools, notebook, pens, digital camera, rags, ball peen hammer, punches, screwdrivers, more punches, TIG Welder, Service Truck (vise for rebarreling), fired brass for us to measure, plastic or rubber mallet, wood block or 2, Black and Decker Workmate (clamping ability for your barreled action or stock), masking tape, duct tape, Loctite (blue and red stuff), more to follow as I remember or remind myself. You don't have to bring all of this stuff since we end up with some overlap.
* Late news: Got 3 of the S&J cheekpieces for sale... $ 55.00 taxes in (delivery at the M14 clinic) badboybeeson sent me a bunch to make available.
* More late news: TAC PRO a dealer on the board wants to make an appearance around 1200 hrs. He is prepared to :
- bring a rifle with the riser installed and demonstrate the product and its effectiveness.
- build a fixture so that on-site installation will take less than 4 minutes per rifle, so as not to use up all our time.
- A draw can be held during a break so one lucky attendee will receive a free riser (retail: $49.95+tax) and installation. In addition, TAC PRO (CGNutz dealer) will offer a discounted price of $45.00, including tax and installation, to anyone who wants to purchase a riser during the clinic.
* Registration: PM (don't use email) me on the board. I'll send you payment instructions. You can choose EMT (electronic money transfer for you online banking fans) or Snail Mail cheques/buried cash. We'll just stick with the fee ! I will use this forum (right here ) to monitor the numbers and payment details. With your payment, ensure that you remind me of your CGN handle and what location the clinic is in since I'm running a clinic a month... these days.
