M14, LAST SHIPMENT EVER for Marstar!

Man... I've been avoiding an M14 for so long.... I keep telling myself "You've got a Garand, .308 is a ladies caliber" but if this is the last shipment and we might have a Lib/NDP government in a couple weeks... f**k it :D

I'm a die hard bolt gun guy, but the combination of the possibility of a stongly antigun coalition government, a depressed Canadian dollar making an M1-A less attractive, and the last chance to get a Norinco, I finally took the bait.

My receiver from one of the previous "Last ever shipment" pitches is date stamped 2007. I have a few of these now, because they are some of the best fun you can get for under $500. I remember when portugese surplus was $350/1000 taxes in though...

As for compatibility with M-14 USGI parts, are these metric threaded or imperial? Using a US made barrel on a metric threaded gas block might be a problem.

M14 just got off the phone with Marstar

Well I took Hungry's advice and I just ordered 2 of them.

I was told that there are a couple hundred people ahead of me so it could be a couple weeks til they process the order.

No problem at all actually. Read the stickies. The only thing you have to worry about threading wise is the gas system and the flash hider. The receiver/barrel have the same threads as the USGI.

while we haven't seen it yet, there's also rumor of an entity supposedly called"norinco usa" - so the m14 et al may not be done quite yet, but maybe the ones directly from china

Do an of you guys that own and shoot one aready have experience shooting non-mil-surp .308Win ammo through it? I've heard that .308Win has higher pressures, does this matter? Before I put in an order I'm wondering if I have to use mil-surp ammo only.

no problems with my 1990 version, and that;s one if the old ones- round count has to be several thousand now and as long as you observe the 170 grain caveat( nothing heavier than 170 grains- ie 168 match and 165 hunting) you'll be fine-

Currently using .308Win Power Point in 150gr with no problem at all, I've been told by a few here that .308Win in 180gr should be ok on occasion. I get my ammo at Le Baron in Ottawa. Now looking for a good place for the .308 in 168gr, still looking.

Norinco shotguns are allowed into the US but not rifles or rifle components.

Sure there are going to be M14's available in the future. You have your choice of several other M14's right now, just NOT AT $399.

less than 100 left? i ordered mine over a week ago but was told it would be set aside until my PAL arrives... i hope he's true to his word because i really want one

if one of you buggers gets my rifle imma come after ya!!

the mission of norinco usa is NOT the import of guns, but the MANUFACTURE of guns and parts to get around the embargo- in other words the guns and components are going to be made ON SHORE- IN AMERICA
