Here is my 2nd attempt mounting a scope on this rifle.

Haven't had time to shoot it yet, but I'm feeling pretty confident the mount/rings/scope will hold up to the recoil, if I've done my part during assembly.

SADLAK Steel mount - Installation was a little nerve wracking, and the locking lug went a bit past 12 o'clock before the rear portion of the mount mated to the receiver.

Badger Ordnance Max 50 Rings, standard height w/matching 30mm to 1" reducers. I was skeptical about using the reducer inserts, but I couldn't bring myself to buy a decent set of 1" rings, just in case this projects
fails. After popping the inserts into the rings for the first time, then dropping the scope into them, I felt reassured by the perfect fit. Badger Ordnance stuff seems to be of the highest quality....so far.

Bushnell 3200 10x - got it used here on the EE, everything I've read suggests it will handle the recoil, again assuming I've installed everything correctly.

I'm already having a little bit of buyers remorse considering I've spent nearly $1k to scope a Chinese rifle...but if this setup works, I'll never take it off this rifle again and consider my curiosity satisfied. ;)

A previous attempt at a "Budget Black Hawk Down" aimpoint/M14 build was a complete failure.

Tried mounting an Aimpoint using a Promag split rail mount (ARMS 18 knockoff) and a single extra wide Leupold 30mm Ring. Aimpoint twisted and shifted backwards sometime over the course of 100x rounds. I still like the idea of a red dot on one of these rifles, but this was not the way to do it. Live and Learn.

Wow, my last post in this thread was 2012.....time flies....

Still rocking the M14.ca scope mount on my first rifle:

I recently got an M305 and quite like it. I'm not sure I really *want* a scope on it; these peep sights are new enough to me. But if I did get one, does anyone make an off-set mount which would allow the charger guide and iron sights to be used?

all the ones I find seem to mount on the side or top and replace your iron sights.

Thanks.

Not sure about offset mounts, but if you want to shoot irons, this is probably more your thread:

I've got the same scope on mine, on an ARMS #18. The scope is robust enough to take, but I had to put mine into medium rings because the windage turret was catching brass underneath. I also wrapped the windage in adhesive velcro to stop anymore strathspey.

As in, catching and jamming them back into the open action, or just taking hits from the brass? Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Just taking hits from the brass. Of the couple hundred rounds I've put through I've only had one pinched casing between the charging handle and scope ring base.

Sadlak mount, medium height weaver 4 hole tactical rings, and a bushnell 4-12x40mm scope with a 1 inch tube.

Just barely clears the rear sight. Any lower and I'd have to remove the rear sight which I'd rather not do incase of a shtf situation I could loose the scope and base and be good to go with iron sights.

I just bought the aluminium sadlak scope mount. I had the casm before but I like to shoot irons and they hit the bulleyes with 147gr so I'd rather not remove them. The mount was pricey but hopefully it will work out well for me.

I have the same mount it's good but you will need a cheek riser of some sort for the scope, and it makes using the irons a pain unless you remove the cheek riser. I got the coyote m1a Velcro strap type setup

That's why I want to go with the velcro strap cheek riser, so I can remove it with ease without altering the wood stock. Where did you get yours nick?

Search coyote custom cheek risers m1a , he's a guy in BC , I bought one too they work great . He will custom fit it for you with 1/4" diff from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 height

Does anyone know what brand of mount this one is? No name aluminum, side bolt, attaches to the stripper clip dovetail, and has a tension screw. Marstar?

I was going to say Deal Extreme or some such online Airsoft store because Martsar's looks like a different airsoft product.

Arms 18 knock off ? Guessing

If it's an Arms 18 knock off, it's not a very good one, lol!
