M14 Scope mount photos

I've been considering picking up one of the UTG rails that replace the upper handguard...I'm not planning on scoping the rifle or otherwise modding it, but I just hate that piece of plastic and I want to replace it with something/anything. Has anyone purchased one or have pics of one on a rifle? comments?

I have the same mount on the way to me, a few questions for ya; What height are the rings you're using? Do you think you could go a bit lower with the rings and that size scope?

Here is a Bassett Mount (Rail Type) with a Falcon 4-14x44 inside some Leupold QRW rings. The stock is from 45ACP King.
It sits on a pad that slips into the existing stripper clip guide.
LaRue Tactical recently released a few LT608 MK14 Mod 1 mounts, I have two inbound
The rear section of the mount dose not make any contact with stripper clip guide or any other part of the receiver.

Used Med height. This particular stock (from 45acpking) has a very high cheek piece. Lower rings might not work for me. Also might not be able to use irons with lower rings.
Very happy with mount. Well made. Finish is very nice. Feels solid. Only shot once since mounted. Cold & windy that day so results nothing to brag about. Detailed Range Report to follow once weather gets better. I will make sure to test the "Return to Zero" claim after removed/reinstalled.
How are the Ultimak and UTG front hand guard cover replacement rails? Do they hold zero? I like the look of those on the new black synthetic Polytech stocks, but do not really want to 200USD on a rail that is crap.

Also, is there a dealer/source of Ultimak stuff in Canada? (can it even be exported, because it is M14 parts?)

So far this set up is holding zero very well, probably not as sturdy has the LaRue Tactical LT608, but it fills my purpuse. Would like to try out H2O set up Doh!.....

Hi Team from New Zealand. I am after an Arms 18 mount for my M14 (Norinco M305). Getting one out of the States is more than ordinarily complex, but my brother in Calgary will ship one over for me - so can any of you guys or girls give me a steer as to where/if I can source this mount in Canada??
