Yes sir looking good. Gonna miss easy optics though. The only real downfall here. Uhm. An optics company could build a tiny optics to fit into rear sight slot. Apparently it was an American experiment back in the day. Maybe a scout optics?
Yep, for sure going to miss having a scope. I had a nice Smith Enterprises mount on the m14. Hard to insert ammo with a scope in that position on a Garand. And I'm not thrilled with the look of a red dot mounted over the rear sight pocket. Looks out of place to me on an old gun.
Too bad someone didn't make a scope mount that hinged to the left. Press a little release, swing the scope out of the way, eject the clip, and insert a fresh one, swing the scope back over the receiver and lock it in place. Someone does make a component that eliminates the auto eject of the clip when its empty.
The guys who made the "Black Feather" chassis and the "CASM" M14 optics mount also made a RDS adaptor (replaced the rear sight) and a Garand Length CASM mount.
Very interesting builds. I purchased a Breda m1 receiver to tinker with a potential hybrid rifle myself. The m305 barrel threads pretty hard into the Breda receiver. For those of you who have installed m305 barrels to m1 receivers, is this normal or could my parts be incompatible?
