Hi, i have been lurking lot's lately, soaking in the most info before posting, since i have got an M305 i wish to convert to an excellent shooter, on my own.
I'm a very handy person and trust my ability to go through this.

Using the search function, i have created myself a binder, using posts mainly from hungry, lazarus2000 and skullboy, to know what exactly what needs to be done, in order of importance to boot it up.
Sourcing parts i am pretty confident as i have bookmarked many references along the recent long reads i have had.

One thing i have found the section lacking of, unless i have used the search function incorrectly, is a complete tool list to do everything on an M305.
From the simple castle nut pliers, to vise receiver blocks, to even the bigger stuff as a drill press with specific bit.
If i could know where to source some of these specialty items even better!

I am aware at some point i will need to outsource some work due to tooling expenses (i.e. i won't get a TIG welding unit to unitize maybe 2-3 gas blocks in my life), but i wish to get most of the tooling required, and hoping i can re-index barrels on my own and such.

EDIT : Just found this thread so i'm good to go.

With all these thread and info in the battle rifle section, it's easy to get lost around here!

It's my plan in the near future, i'm 20 mins from Ottawa and been to Pet a few times.
I ordered 2x M305s from Martar and are in the mail.
I also specially requested that they send me handpicked ones, that the front sight is kanting right when looking through rear sight, instead of left.
From what i read here, an undertightened barrel is easier to correct than an overtightened one.
Cheers!

Edit : oh and Barney, what do you think of S&J's op-rod spring and op-rod spring guide combo? There are so many brands out there i wonder if they all fare equal

Yep they sell either only spring, or spring/rod combo

Thanks notsorich, seeing your EE ad with all these beautiful builds, i know this is good info right here

I love the op rod spring guides by: S&J, M14Medic. I like and have the Sadlak USA Made op rod spring guide because my self esteem needed the cool factor!

I'm faster than you.... and you... and you....

With any American made op rod spring guide, you have to use an American spring. Chinese spring? Buy a Canadian Op Rod spring guide from S&J or M14Medic... it fits your Norinco/Plinko Zhinese spring.

Cheers,
Barney

Here i was expecting a battle rifle video, definatly did not expect that!

S&J supplies the spring with his guide rod, at least the spring matches the rifle.
By the way anyone who has not seen the wolverine supplies post go look it up!
What a golden timing for me if this works out!

And we also rebarrel!

I cant recommend spending a day with Barney and a table full of m14/m305s enough. Well worth the time.
