M203 Grenade Launcher Import

I wouldn't want to be that site sponsor. There is a Government Agency in the US called Blue Lantern https://www.bis.doc.gov/index.php/documents/pdfs/1588-end-user-verification-blue-lantern/file who is currently investigating the illegal exports of these launchers and thermal imaging equipment into Canada.

There is a dealer in Canada who has already felt their wrath. Blue Lantern, is comprised of inner agency personnel, ICE, ATF, FBI, CBP, DND, and DOJ agents. It is extremely serious...

If you want a grenade launcher you could always go old school http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/No.1_Mk.I_Cup_Discharger

That may be the case, it's most likely like post and pre 86 for machine guns. I am referring to current legislation and guidelines, and remember not everyone is conscious of current regulations.

Yeah I'm curious now, I know there are people in the US that have these on NFA stamps as civilians.

Thanks for the clarification, is it also the same regarding IR lasers like the PEQ-15/DBAL? Theres lots of them on GunAuctions as well

Some lasers can be exported with proper licensing, others are strictly for LE or Military applications. If they are on our Canadian site they have been imported correctly and lawfully.

That's a great overview and 100% correct but the keys words are "approval from the ATF must be obtained" that's where everything stops...

It's what most consider "the never never plan"

Have a great weekend Bud!!!

This has nothing to do with the legality exporting class 3 weapons from the USA but it explains how Americans can get their licenses for these types of weapons including DD’s

Perhaps naming businesses is not a good idea here. Business members have business rules to follow in the business area.

for clarification, I wouldnt have expected a naming.....more what was the end result of the Wrath of the Blue Lantern. I get it though. Apologies.

yeah, they didn't require any special licenses/documents to buy either. They just asked you to sign a 1-page form, and pay $4k, that's it. I wonder if all the buyers will eventually have to turn them in.

I guess you guys don't care if the wonderful people from the Controlled Goods Directorate show up to your door. You can be fined anywhere up to $1 000 000 for certain infractions. I believe anything over 20mm that is rifled is classed as group 2 items.
I have an inspection coming up this year, I can ask the inspector on your behalf if you like.

That's a pretty substantial fine, I'm guessing that keeps alot of people on their toes, BTW, I"m curious , just what do they inspect? and why? do the permits expire? and do they enter your home or property under the authority of the "minister" who issues the permits? Are they making sure that you don't resale anything? and how long do they keep this up?

I never had any idea how vigilant this GOV agency was?

I believe Canada has adopted US policy in that anything over 50BMG is considered a destructive device. Canadian Foreign Affairs has also recently adopted the term "Destructive Device" so I am sure the guidelines have changed.

As we do not regularly work within that jurisdiction your best bet would be to reach out to that agency or spend some time on the internet.

A three foot piece of pvc, assorted plumbing pieces, bbq lighter, can of hairspray, and a sack of Yukon golds. Combine these in the right configuration, add copious free time (currently not an issue) and a box of wobbly pops and you can satisfy the urge to launch things across a field. And likely draw FAR less attention to yourself.
