This is just badass.
Although, not sure why any sniper would need a weaponlight.
Anyways, I'm digging the mag conversion, and am saving up for V-Bull's offering on it.

Would not have a weapons light for police work either unless someone just dreamed up something new,,,,,, Not common practice on SWS.

Nice rig!! I think I could manage to find some room for it around here!

light is for threat ID in urban setting where NV is not very useful and threat ID is absolutely necessary.....the light is a Surefire M981/M982 12 volt light and will work out to 150-200 yrds....longer if using an IR filter with NV gear too.

I think if you need a light to identify your target...your not doing your job properly.
So what do you do...turn it on and give away your position?Nice.

I would have to agree, if your behind the SWS you should be in a position where you should not have to be identifying "threat targets" up close. Your partner / spotter should be armed to deal with same, and prepared to deal with it. Not the person behind the rifle watching his target through a scope waiting,,,,,,

except in an urban area where a strobe application of light will work....many people on this board would be screaming bloody murder if a police sniper failed to properly ID their threat and did their job "properly" and just shot the silhouette which turned out to be the hostage vs the hostage taker. You wouldn't be doing the job properly if you turned the light on and left it on for an extended period of time either.

if threat ID isn't an issue then why are companies like Surefire making lights for stuff like this (at the request of military units):

not to get all armchair commando and all, but, a silencer and a light together does not really make logical sence, although I'm sure the marketing team just wanted to show the versatility of the modular capabilities of this system.

Hmm, all that kit just to hunt snipe :) :

Anyway a light is a light is a light....back to the rifle Just find it interesting that upon closer look it apears that Remington is starting to copy what PGW has been doing for years, I think there is a PGW influence to this rifle and I think we will start to see more of it as the new Canadian Sniper rifle becomes better known. What do you think? I hope they don't start to flute thier bolts also.
