Brackets were riveted on from the factory and they have been removed. I have them and the top plate just in case they may be needed in the future. All the slag on the frame has been ground off. The frame has been blasted. Im working on the front end, the whole front differential was NOS previous to me getting it and has only a few hours on it, so im just repacking bearings.

I remembered that my Grandfather drove a halftrack when he got loaned out to the 5th Anti Tank regiment after D-Day. Is this the same type of vehicle? It would be really great to see one up close. Thank you for restoring this peice of history.

They are almost the same looking. Canadians used the M5 and M9. If i remember the M5 was equivalent M3 and M9 to my M2. All non USA halftracks were built by other companies in the USA but had to use as many common parts as possible, hence the subtle differences. They had the same drive train, same front end to the doors. The fenders are different and rear armor is welded not bolted like USA service halftracks.
Anyone who wants to swing by is welcome. I'm north of Toronto about 40 mins

M4s and there counter part m21s (m3s) were anti personal and soft targets. The m3-75 was the track with the big tank gun. M15-M16 were twin and quad 50s on a turret mounted out back
Found a better picture of the halftrack. Also one of him holding a 1911? Browning Hi Power? infront of what I assume is a tarped halftrack. Anyway keep up the good work, you should be a big hit in the Rememberance Day parades
Man, I went a few months before posting more pics lol. I got all the drums off, Front end is NOS like i was told, but am replacing the wheel cylinders anyway. The rears are full of crud, rusty etc. I had a brake package send overnight UPS by my guy in the US. Evey thing is NOS. Should have the brakes all done and drums back on soon. Just buttoning up the steering box tonight. More pics soon! I talked to lant insurance in Stouffville Ont. and they tell me i can get insurance for her. Yay

This half-track was bought in Cornwall, ON, right?? If so, I am very familiar with it, as I spent time sitting in the driver's seat while we towed it around the yard to get everything unstuck, what a hoot. Did the previous owner show you his small collection of military vehicles (I occasionally get to drive one of them in local parades, lots of fun).
Yes this is JRs old track. He didnt get much done with her while he owned it. I helped him sell his bren carrier. He hasn't got much left, and what he does i understand he wants to sell

I was sad to see the Bren carrier go, as I know how much time JR put in to her. She was a real sweetheart to drive. It is too bad that cancer has been playing hell with his health these past few years, hence the reason for his selling much of his collection.
