Just painted the windage and elevation marks on a Springfield rear sight using a product called Lacquer Stik. To use: degrease metal surface, fill in depressions with paint stick, wipe of excess before it dries. The paint is very soft. Has consistency of feta cheese. Clean excess off with soft cloth. Stubborn areas can be cleaned with Magic Eraser pads. Once dry it becomes hard and durable. It expands and contracts with the metal and is heat resistant. Very happy with the results. The markings really stand out.
