M305s in Springfield stock

Springfield and usgi are the same, and you should either get a usgi pin or do the popcicle stick mod so it won't walk out under recoil. Super easy to do, 10 min max. Google for it, or find it in the stickies.

So I'm guessing you didn't read the part about it being snug. Again, it's fine.

it has NOTHING to do with "snugness" - it has to do occupying the space below the pin

Yes, you are correct, but if the space between the side of the reciver where the retaining pin would protrude, and the inner wall of the stock is tight, then I don't need a popsicle stick to fill the void. My gap is about 1/16th of an inch, so it's not going to move.

I've told you three times now that I have no issue with it, but thank you for your concern.

Great looking rifle. Congrats!
Just a bit of advice so that you can enjoy the rifle more:

The stock my fit the Norinco receiver snug, but the area on the right side of the inside of the stock (next to where the recoil spring guide retaining pin goes) is cut out on non-Norinco stocks, allowing the retaining pin to shift out of place under repeated firing. I have a walnut Springfield stock, and there is a space there. Not sure if there's one on the fiberglass but I wouldn't be surprised.

Also, looking at your picture, did you need to file down the area of the top of the stock just under where the windage knob is? The metal beside the charging handle track goes further back on the Norinco than on the Springfield or the USGI, preventing it from seating fully unless that little bit (about an inch in length is contoured properly).

I put a 22in Norc 305 into a Archangel stock and had to address the area you have circled to get the Norc action to seat properly. Seems the Norc receiver is "proud" along that area and needs a lil stock material removed to sit down and seat properly.
