M38 Mosins... Here they come!

Anyone know how they go about getting your payment info?.

I placed my order and selected credit card for payment, yet It did not give me a chance to enter my card info. Do they generally call you or email you to further the process?.

You have to call or email with your credit card info and reference your order #...give your email a quick check ;)

You have to call them with your card number.

As to stocks - you can immediately tell an M44 stock by the pressed-in escutcheons in the sling slots. That's a post war feature, and M38 was phased out of production in '44. It would not be incorrect for an M38 to be in a war time M44 stock either, straight off the line.

That being said, I can't justtify paying over $600 for the proper stock, and only a couple of WRs on their page visibly had M38 stocks and colour matching handguards.

My next purchase is going to be a 91/30 run of the mill Mosin with a strong bore.
I'm going to pay around $200.
Then I'm going to cut the barrel down to M38 length, recrown it, cut the stock down as well, reform the tip put the cap and screw on it. I can do a lot of that myself.
I'll just have to figure out how to get a front site tac welded onto the barrel, I know enough dudes personally to get most of this done for free.
It's going to be a fun project I think

Mill off the back sight graduations above 1000m and you'll have a pretty good replica of a 91/59, if you like. Carbine front and back sights are visibly different than those for the long rifle

Not to be off topic here, but I've been wanting a m38 for awhile. How do they shoot compared to m91/30? About the same accuracy or?? Thanks guys

Edit - I do own a m91/30 already. Beautiful blonde, great shooter

My m38 and m44 are slightly less accurate than my M1891, but they are faaaaasr easier to wield due to shorter length. I also find the M38 has superior balance without the front heavy but awesome looking bayonet.

Best feature: SWEET ASS FIREBALLS!!!

crikey, isn't this a hell of a deal for that 5 pack or am i missing something? isn't the retail almost double for these purchased separately?

Ordered. Second for me. Hope it can match the immaculate '41 i have. Wish i could afford five of them as i adore them but the socom 18+crate and sr22 this month make up that differenceib my bank.. Guess i cant be sad with that.

Thank you tradex!

I just spoke to Anthony at Tradex - gave him my credit card number for the one I ordered at 1:50am and I asked if they were all sold out and he said he put a hold on it at the moment because he wasn't sure if he had sold them all or not. Chances are he HAS but some of you guy's might get lucky if he has a few more. I'd keep checking the web site or call them later in the day. I think Frontier Firearms is sold out now.
