M4 carbines

I've still only purchased 2 guns since getting my RPAL but Marstar will be getting the majority of my gun budget from here on in. Pre-orders with no deposit and you are complaining? I'll wait as long as is needed for a knowledgeable company who guarantees what they sell to get it right.

That is a pre-order receipt for Duke Nukem Forever. The receipt was issued in 2001. The game has not been released yet. I can wait a little while longer for my M4.

Major win on that Duke Nukem reference! that made my day. I think you've been waiting longer than anyone.

For what it's worth, I think it's great that Marstar offers a pre-order system. If it doesn't cost anything to get on the list, and you're able to opt-out if you get tired of waiting, then what's the issue?

I can only imagine how tough it gets to bring things across borders, especially scrutinized and controlled items (like firearms) into canada. I ordered a laptop from eBay in the US, and the shipping time was only a few days.. I ended up waiting 4 weeks for it to clear customs! and it was just harmless electronics... I totally sympathize with the guys at Marstar for what they deal with. If they offer this courtesy service, we shouldn't berate them for wait times that are beyond their control. We should accept it as part of the system and be thankful they're doing us a favour at all.

Speaking of which, i hope they do a pre-order for the NP-22. I can't afford a CQ right now, even if it is only 699 :p

Anyone know if Marstar is still accepting pre orders, or are the M4's all now spoken for ??

Read through this rather long thread and there appear to be more than 500 pre orders.

Thanks.

BROWNING NB;
"When preorders are placed are people notified when the existing orders outnumber the amount of m4 arriving on the first shipment This is not an issue"

and will possibly have to wait for a future delivery. Not an issue, we have more coming in than we have orders at this time

I say " possibly" because I understand that some order will be cancelled and this you cannot predict. " Not certain I understand, ?? Why would we cancel orders that we accepted ??

John

This was a reply from the middle of June. Sounds like a mother load is coming.

Preorder away!! John's got LOTS coming...

Having read a great deal on the internet about these Norinco M4's there seems to be complaints about the finish, at least on older models. I handled a Colt AR 15 today which was used and I cannot say that it appeared to be a better finish than these M4's. The AR 15 was used, no folding stock or flash suppressor and it was $1500.00. Really nothing special to look at, just a military finish one would expect, non glare flat green paint.

The Marstar M4's look fine in the pictures I have seen; as Marstar appears to backup their firearms and even went over to inspect the factory and firearms at their source. I am hopeful Marstar staff will remove any M4 which is badly substandard in finish.

Anyway I will be a first time buyer from Marstar; never bought a gun I had not already examined. Marstar however appears to have an excellent reputation, and it is nice to see johnone interacting with the firearms community even when some posts are on the hostile side.

I bought a gun from Marstar this year and it was the typical Norinco quality as everybody else gets, I wouldn't get too excited if I would be you guys.

Did you get your money's worth? Were the other dealers asking more than Marstar for the same gun at any point in time?....

Yeah, for sure. For a long time ARs were $1500, or more. Bottom line is that the stooges ban all firearms found in small numbers. Bring on the numbers, and cheap, I say!

After I bought it, I found several dealers which offered the same price and I found one which was lower.

It's no big deal for me, I just can't understand why those specific CQ should be any different than the batch which came this year already.

If they were better, then Marstar should use it as a sales argument as Norinco will implement those changes in the future for all coming productions.

I am sure somebody will compare the 2 batches and we will get the answer eventually.

I was early on on the pre-order list for the CQ but canceled as I decided not to go for another .223/5.56 at the time being.

This batch looks better than the ones I have seen before. So far the pictures and the comments about the new arrivals are very positive.

Johnone is doing a great service for all of us and the Canadian firearm community. We all appreciate it. Thank you for the pre-order system that you have offered us to take advantage of.
