M4 carbines

Think WD40 would work?

Corrosive ammo is not the devil, and soldiers have been dunking M-16's in water for almost 50 years now. I don't want to sound like Chicken Little. To me, it's the gas tube thats a concern.

I know in combat, a soldier is trained to keep the barrel out of the drink if possible, and to point it at the deck and shake it prior to firing if he can't.

I have no doubt that you can run an AR-15 on corrosive ammo and keep it in fine shape. However, removing the corrosive salts out of the gas tube, and then getting the water or oil/solvent out of the tube will be a bit of a pain in the ass.

Adding to the fun, is stripping the bolt out of the bolt carrier.

is it possible to get some pipe cleaners of the proper length or if we can find them @ a tobacco store?

i used to clean my HAKIM gas tube with pipe cleaners.

Midwest Industries has the gas tube cleaning tool:

Ok, i think we are deviating too much from the subject... Where are those "Marstar-optimized" Norc M4's ? China, pacific ocean, canada ?

BEEFMAN:
Do you mean our new rifles with interchangeable barrels ??

They are US made in Oregon, so the port strike will not affect us in this case....

John

An updated courtesy "forecast" of M4 delivery schedule would be appreciated - so we can recalibrate expectations. Just a general update would be great. Is busy travel time of year and no one wants to miss a delivery. Thanks.

Are we there yet? Are we? Are we?

I suspect that as soon as John has a firm date, he will announce it.
I really doubt that he will get these into his warehouse and then wait a couple or three weeks before announcing that they are ready for shipment.

Constantly asking for updates isn't going to get them here any sooner.

as i save more $ I think more about getting an sti tactical ar from Gunnar, but id need to get sights and/or a scope if i got that.

August to september anyone?:stirthepot2:

John, Im usre its nothing within your control thats holding these up and hope the wait is worth it. Ive got my ammo and lar mags itching to be used!

Would Vancouver not be the port?

Sea freight has to have a back up port, and the normal back-up for Vancouver is Seattle. Since Norinco guns can't come into US waters, I believe Marstar have said they wind up being shipped to Halifax (or Montreal?).

if only the port was prince rupert, 2 hour drive to watch my gun go to ontario, only to be shipped back to me!

"Story I got from Badger is that him and John imported these together,"

So is Badger and and Marstar working together? I see badger uses the Marstar name on his website, or perhaps marstar works for badger and is buying them from Badger.

Probably in the same way that my local Pontiac dealer worked with GM to import the Vibe.
