M4 failure

Wow... imagine spending all that money on something you would bet your life on due to its know reliability and that happens when you need it most !
I had an m4 that was nothing but reliable , hope they fix it quick for you

The only reason I can think of for silver solder to not flow is that the mating surfaces were not properly prepped/cleaned, or the temperature wasnt high enough.

No? Well it would be too hot to touch and that's for sure, I mean if fired in quick succession and then you would have the expansion of metals thing going on too.
It's no more heat suddenly applied to the barrel than when it was soldered. It is a #### soldering job that's to blame here

It's a mechanical device, and sometimes they fail. Anything mass produced will have the occasional failure. Even Porche's have the occasional breakdown. That doesn't make the whole brand bad

Did you ensure the magazine cap was tight prior to shooting? Is it possible that the magazine cap came loose?

OP was banned so you may not see a reply any time soon.

That said, I've been pleased with how quickly Stoeger Canada returns emails, I was looking into M1 parts and they sent me a quote within 24 hours. Hopefully their warranty work is just as pleasant.
