For the money I would rather have just one of them plus an STF-12, Tacord 870 or some other premium pump. Most of us on here have more than 1 rifle, so why not two shotguns? If one had a 1301 and an M4, he would want for nothing.
That’s fine 4 shots in under 1 second but are they hitting what there aiming at with defensive loads such as buck and slugs. I could no doubt take a full auto m4 carbine and dump a 30 round mages in a few seconds also does not mean Iam gonna hit anything.Beretta claims the 1301 will cycle 4 shots in under 1 second. If I were defending myself from a charging bear I think I'd go with whatever will cycle as many rounds as fast as possible. Beretta is conservative with their claim, when shooting our 1301s a couple of us have timed a best of 6 shots right at the 1 second mark
That being said, we weren't shooting slugs, so managing that type of shot string would take some getting used to.
Fair comment. All I was saying is the tool is capable....it's ultimately up to the user to wring out the potential. That’s fine 4 shots in under 1 second but are they hitting what there aiming at with defensive loads such as buck and slugs. Not sure how the plastic bits that attach the bolt carrier group* to the recoil spring/mag tube would fair in extreme cold. Not saying don't choose the 1301 but it's something to consider.
*no idea what it should be called
In addition to practicing, pick the right ammo. Federal Truball deep penetrator seems like a good option.
Rio Royal Brenekke seems like another good option
Then of course there are the Brenekke black magic.
Rio Royal Brenneke you can find at Cabelas, I found the Brenneke USA Magnum Crush at Calgary Shooting Centre. Just a heads up, the Magnum Crush pack some punch but weren't accurate at all out of my short mossy so buyer beware.
I think it's because the slugs weren't stabilizing - maybe a combo of the short barrel and long slug. I will definitely try some of the other Brenneke offerings if I get a chance.
QUESTION: Those who've bought a Benelli M4 recently, did yours come with only one choke tube? Reason I ask is that Cabelas was advertising a 6% off sale but it turned out the last one in the store, the floor model, only came with with one, mod choke, installed in the gun, whereas there was a cardboard holder in the box with 5 empty spaces. (My present M4 is bored straight cylinder choke, no tubes at all.)
I've bought several new, and all only came with 1 choke. Yours with no choke at all, is a fairly recent model? Had read they had changed one version (military issued I believe?) to a fixed choke.Never mind, I find that the civilian versions do come with just one modified choke tube, installed.
