Anybody know where I can buy a bent bolt handle from in Canada or overseas? I'm not purchasing it yet, just surfing. Looking for some help. I've found some in the US, but I'm looking to get one without having to worry about import/export issues.
there are no "import/export issues" buying bolts from the US...??? I do it all the time - bolt action bolts are not controlled items.
Do it yourself it's not difficult, and you don't even need welding gear. It will cost you about $1.50.
Does he put some mark to show that it's not original? This type of thing could muddy the waters for collectors.

I think it would be some feat to produce a fake. Most Mosin-Nagants have been renumbered so if you stamp the new number, it doesn't make sense. If you stamp the old one, it doesn't make sense either.
You could ask him to stamp something for you if you were really concerned.
'cuz the locking lugs are ON the bolthead itself, re-using the one that came with the gun should maintain the headspace. Keep us updated! I want to see the process before I begin to re-sniperize mine!
Forget Epps. Contact Jason at Gunco in Ottawa. He has done these before many times (even for me) and has all the taps, tooling and jigs already made and ready to go.
