Well, the Radom in the attic had a round in it when we found it, but all the k98s had the bolt removed except this one. Note the nice late features on it? Anyone guess the maker/year LOL?![]()
If i were a betting man, I would say either byf or dot, early 1944. Not late 44 since it has a late-pattern milled trigger guard and is not a kriegsmodel since the rear band is not drilled from the look of it. early dot44 and byf44 both had milled trigger guards for a short while and both had stamped bands.
If could be another maker, but these are the most likely candidates due to the volume produced at those factories with those features at that time.
