We are getting sub MOA with our s&j 18.5 dimpled barrle.
BeSt was around 0.629 with handloaded Hornady amax

How many round groups? Is that group after group consistent sub MOA or just the best one-off group you've seen?
Impressive either way, who's blanks do you use?

Lol, I know it's an S&J dimpled stainless barrel he's talking about but it started out as a blank from someone and they just finish it to their specs.

I make super sweet one round groups

I would be looking at International barrels they are well built and can be ordered for the AR

Why are the S&J barrels poorly engineered?

Buy blank, cut chamber, contour and cut gas block saddle, dimple, drill gas port. Not much engineering required. Performance of finished product is pretty much a result of the blank chosen and if they drilled the gas port the right size which should be pretty easy these days as the info is published.

I liked how it became his thread you were chitting on just because it's about the SLR.
Not sure what happened between you guys but judging by the reply he knew what you were talking about and this may have been going on for a while.
I've only ordered a couple things through S&J over the years but I've always had a positive experience. I hope you get your issue resolved peacefully

I won't be buying an SLR receiver set, I'm waiting for the ATRS set since I already have a Modern Hunter and a few other non restricted semi's so I can wait as long as it takes and I'll still have plenty of toys to keep me smiling.

If it's a rimfire all it needs is a overall length longer than 26". You need a 22lr barrel, not a 223 barrel with a conversion bolt.
