Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

I think most are at least hoping these are delivered before C-71 goes through.

Honestly though, why should anyone have to multilply the the timeline given by the manufacturer or importer by a factor of 10? That is just chitty business and irresponsible on their part to give people hope then let them down. No wonder so many are mad.

I agree with you and you are 100% correct that this is how it is and no one should be surprised by the delays but if people would stop putting up with this kind of crap and hold people accountable then maybe we would only need to double the timeline provided. Either way, I take people for their word and if they say 6 months and it takes 24 months then they are liars and not worth spending my money on. This is my opinion of any company that does this, not picking on MDI specifically.
Just because this is the way it is doesn't make it right and only the consumer can hold them accountable. As much as I'd love to see another Canadian manufacturer making quality products, if one has to go under to show the rest that we expect them to deliver what they say they will when they say they will deliver it then so be it.

I hope everyone gets a quality product but if these guys are new to the industry, don't have enough equipment to produce the products they promised in a reasonable amount of time and are way behind the timelines I worry quality is going to suffer as they try to rush through and fill orders once they get their fancy soft jaws and start making parts again.

Time will tell, good luck to all involved.

Good luck with your crusade to convince consumers and businesses that your way is the only way.

I'll just keep making educated decisions and basing my expectations on them.

$800 of that price is just the non restricted tax

I'll give them credit for $600-$800 for a nice CNC receiver set and the rest to NR tax.
ATRS has been selling their restricted receiver sets for $800-$900 iirc for years.
It's not the same as a mass produced forged set but I know what you're saying.
Funny how you can buy a complete WK-180C for the same price as these receiver sets. I'm sure the quality, fit and finish of these will be better but is it that much better?
I'm just glad I already have a few non restricted semi autos, I'd hate to have this order as my first one and have to wait and wait for it with no end in sight.

The WK180C is a hell of a lot simpler to produce. It's a box. I'd imagine that is the major factor in the pricing.

The WK180C is nothing like the Stag10 or the MVs. I dont even see the appeal of that design.I guess the same crowd that likes to put crapco stocks on SKSs will eat them up tho !

I wouldn't be surprised if I got my MVs before you guys even see your SLR's...lol...

I ordered a WK180-C. I already have my Stag 10 receiver. I have a MV rifle and have the MS receiver and the MacDef receiver on order.

I don't have a crapco'd out SKS (not that I'd want one anyways). However I think my 180-C will fill that void lol

Only reason I want the 180-C is so I can throw it in the truck or tractor and not give a chit when it gets beat around. So Ya, even though I have better stuff there is still a place for the 180-C

And yup, I'm going to agree with you that ATRS has a pretty good chance of delivering before MacDef

I guess you didn't actually clue in. Here, I will sum it up for you as simply as I can. It's good advice for anyone contemplating a pre order or putting a deposit on any new to market product :

Go into it with your eyes wide open.

Regardless of what the dealer, manufacturer or importer tells you for a timeline, multiply that by 10.

Don't put up cash if you aren't comfortable with it being tied up for a lengthy period of time.

I don't care what company it is. If you don't/won't recognize these things, then frankly, you are quite foolish.

Personally, I looked at this item, decided I wanted it, noted that it was only $100 deposit to get in the line and decided it was worth it. I won't be whining about the timeline because I already went into it with my eyes open. Other products I may see differently and choose not to participate.

In this case, all I care about is receiving a quality product. I really don't care if it takes another 6 months as long as it's good. And I don't care about the timeline because....well, see above.

Good advice right here!

Yea I'd way rather have a rifle that is held together by a bolt... Lol

It is all about price point for people, and having something different. I think all of these rifles will be awesome, and we are lucky to be able to have such choices.

Yup, they all fill a niche in the the market. Not everyone can afford a $2000+ SLR or MV-S build and for them or the guys that just want a beater the WK180c should do the trick. At least now there are starting to be some affordable options for guys wanting a black semi that isn't restricted.
I have plenty of NR 223 semis, think I might try an FX-9 next. Be a while till they're on store shelves though so we'll see what else comes to market while waiting :)

according to what i was told a week ago the ATRS lowers are supposed to be out september but the uppers wont be available until christmas....

I am waiting for mine , but I don’t get all of this negativity towards the SLR. Personally if you want a black rifle get a damn AR regardless if it’s restricted.

Square range shooting gets a little old. Nice to be able to hit the bush with a similar system and lay waste.
