Lol the ATRS is in production, without an FRT, and has never been fired by anyone that doesn't work at or know someone at ATRS.

The MDI JUST started shipping. There's probably 3 rifles (That aren't early revision guns) that have been assembled by people that don't work for MDI, their distributors, or know someone bla bla bla.

Way too early for this post. Wait 6 months. Or maybe longer, depending on the RCMP and the firearms lab.

It is in full production, it may be out for sale first.

They have stated flat out that they will not sell the MS receiver set without an FRT. You can get your hopes up, but it would be a ridiculous business decision for them to do so, and they know it. They fully expect a NR classification (with good reason, as it is a descendant of their MV), but it's not guaranteed.

If the sporter would have been announced at the same time I would have 100% went with ATRS. They make nice stuff.

Same. However, I'm going to do a higher end precision type build with my MacD whenever it gets here and I'm planning on doing more of a plinker build/truck gun with the ATRS whenever it is released as it'll be closer to a traditional AR.

The Modern Sporter.... Simply because they have demonstrated their slightly LESS greedy then the SLR guys. Both units of which are still waaay over priced.

If I had the cash I would get the Modern Sporter. But its wk180-c for me right now, which I have no problem with. i have wanted a 180 for about 10 years.

Well , why dont you buy a Machine shop and pump out lowers for cheaper ? ;)

\
Oh and they have an FRT.

And how does having an FRT change anything ? Lots of us already bought the MVs without an FRT because just like the 180 you dont need an FRT to sell a rifle in Canada. Thats right from the mouth of useless bureaucrats at the RCMP lab. !

Who has the best reputation? That's right. ATRS.

And you can handle the MVs if you go to the shop :)

Responding to the bold, they are definitely for sale.

Dunno about the SLR guys, but if you want to pay North Americans a good living wage for high quality items, you get what you get from ATRS.

Buying a gun without an FRT is a risky game to play but it's your money so feel free. I've handled MV/MS rifles, they're not great, take proprietary parts(modified DPMS garbage) and aren't overly reliable. Not to mention grossly over priced.

If you think loosing 1K is risky, you need to find a new hobby. Its not about the money its about the principle of not living on my knees like a sheep.

I've handled MV/MS rifles.

Well I was talking about the MVs ;) and they have ZERO proprietary parts :p

I voted for the Modern Sporter.

I have receiver sets from both MacDef and ATRS ordered. However, had they both been released at the same time I would have just bought the MS. Already having a Modern Varmint I know what to expect when my MS arrives. Plus the MS plain and simply looks better.

So how much do you have invested in the SLR’s? Do you own part of the company producing them? You sure chit on ATRS a lot and think SLR’s are gold.

Let me rephrase. They will not ship/release them without a non restricted FRT.

Who told you this? That’s not what I was told by ATRS.
