By far one of our favourite products over the years from Ballistic Advantage has been their Hanson Profile barrels. In the spring we were able to convince Mr. Hanson himself to make us this barrel in a 18.6 inch length for our market. Now available, Hanson profile 5.56 18.6 inch with low profile gas block.

This 5.56 chambered 18.6 inch Performance Series Barrel is machined from CrMoV steel with a QPQ Corrosion Resistant Finish. Performance Series barrels feature a Nickel Boron Coated Extended M4 Feed Ramp Extension

When envisioning what would become the BA Hanson profile barrels, it was imperative that we maintained the quality and accuracy you’ve come to expect from BA, while simultaneously challenging ourselves to make improvements where we could. Our goal was to intelligently design a barrel that left material only where you needed it, while ensuring there was still enough material at the chamber. Our vision came alive and we created a barrel that has a lightweight feel without the lightweight limitations. This was truly ideal for how an AR-15 was designed to perform.

Is this for the Lockhart Raven or something else ? It is best to start a new thread and clearly indicate in the title what rifle the barrel is intended for ( not just editing he ad) If it is for Lockhart Raven or the Crusade arms cypto -put it in the title so people who search for these parts can hit the search function easier, and also they "click" right the way when they see the title.

I was scratching my head a bit as to what this is it for. It makes a big difference for people who can only see the title of the ad and use search.

I've gotten to used to making Facebook posts were their bots are constantly trying to kick you off for posting about evil gun parts

I have a 14.5" BA Hanson profile SS barrel on my AR...competed with it for years in 3-gun and 2-gun matches (bought from Sask Gunworks along with other components for the build).
Perhaps the best barrel I've ever used.
Insanely accurate and, yeah, when it comes to the claim that the "physics magic" of the profile makes it a softer shooter...I'm a believer ;)

We have put more 14.5 Hanson performance barrels on more ARs than any other, SPD alone has over 150 rifles with the BA barrels and they have performed very well, they are the reason we had this run made.

Had customer have a few issues pinning his gas block this past weekend, so thought I would pass on a couple tips to prevent issues.

First, line up the gas block by manually inserting a 1/8 drill bit (vicegrips to hold drill bit works well) work it far enough that the shaft of drill bit is in the groove for pin.

After you have block nicely lined up and held in place with drill bit, tighten set screws well, these will hold gas block in place when installing gas block pin.

Lastly, if you have a pin starter that works best, if not just take your time with a punch, and always try and hammer towards yourself, you will have more control that way.

Easy peezy, few taps and your done.
