A friend of mine who is a machinist wanted to try a 3D surface project on his desktop CNC so one of the things I suggested was some 1911 grips.
We've almost finished this set, they just need to be counter bored, then maybe engraved. There was an error in the path and it nicked a little bit of the grip on the bottom, so these one's aren't perfect, but eh, not bad for the 2nd try at making a grip.
Thought you guys might want to check em out. Ended up being a pretty fun project. Once the non dicked up set is finished I might try duracoating them or something.

This was our first attempt and got dicked because someone put it in the fixture the wrong way round (not me
) Anyway we decided to use it to do a test engraving and try out the counter bore, which went fine.
Things we learned: Use a fixture when possible...and use it properly.
