Denny, I do recall asking you the same question not all that long ago, this is the third time I've seen you answer it since! Do you have the answer programed in speed dial or what? You sir have the patience of a sniper when it comes to us "less experienced" reloaders! On behalf of all of us I would like to say thank-you!

3rd ?? That's it ???
I haven't actually been in here that much over the past few weeks. I'm getting things organized for my (final) move to Edmonton. We bought the biggest house we've ever had. 1722 sq ft not including the basement. The most beautiful thing about this place is about 25 percent of the basement isn't finished. I've got about 25 ft by 8 to 10 feet to work with and it's ALL going to be reloading and gun room !!!! I can't wait. Anyway, if I seem a little scarce of the next few weeks, you guys know why.
I refer you to my VERY experienced and learned colleague, H4831 - Bruce for all your reloading information needs

I've learned more real world things from Bruce's posts than any 5 reloading manuals. By the way Bruce...I still remember that picture of you on the quad, on the ham radio, in the mountains on one of your hunting trips....and yes....I'm jealous and want to go hunting with you
As far as primers go, I'll never say there is absolutely no difference. I will however say with absolute certainty that I've done the experiments, and whatever the differences are, I don't notice them in my ammo. I've shot in +30 c and in -30 c. If I was out on a $5000.00 fly in caribou hunt and I could only take one gun, you're damned right I'm going to have Federal 215 magnum rifle primers.....every case and bullet will be weighed.....every charge will be weighed twice......every finished round will be weighed and inspected with a magnifying glass. I would have no expectations of a change in performance....but I'd do it anyway just because you don't get a "do over" on trips like that. It would be for my peace of mind and really, nothing more.
For general plinking, I load with my powder throw and use whatever primers. For a load development or a match, primers are not high on my list of things to worry about.
