Magwedge full length SKS picatinny "Kwik-Rail". (Initial impressions/pix)

Are you sure about replacing the leaf?

I skipped that

Edit: I popped the leaf back in there - seems to add a bit more tension to the front mount.

Yes tension and I believe otherwise too much gas would escape and potentially not cycle to bolt back enough. The scout mount was okay because it was wider and covered the whole area.

Was your leaf kinda loose when you replaced it?

After a lot of fiddling around and dremeling, I got the 5/20 tapco removeable magazine installed. Really liking the look with the rail. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

To befiles

It will not work well with CZ 858. Similar design was tried by the Slovak army in several different forms and it failed each time. It may work on SKS but on CZ 858 it turned into big fiasco for the Slovak Army

Man that looks good! Please keep us posted with a range report if you can.

I'll post some pictures and video later tonight, just out doing errands - but I went to the range today and had great results. Not a single jam and my best group of 5 at 50 yards was an about an inch to 1.5" with a bushnell trs-25. I found it easier to 0 than my old scout mount, the kwik rail was solid, held zero great. I was shooting MFS non corrosive.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the groupings, I took a friend from out of town with me and wasn't really trying to do much more than making sure it functioned and held zero.

After about 100 rounds these were the dings at the bottom of the rail. As previously stated, no jams or stovepipes. I had previously done the ejection port mod, incase that matters.

Edit: The only picture of a group I found was taken through my sighting scope. Keep in mind this is the target I was sighting it in with, and the center target is the first group I shot after it was nearly dialed in. I had a few better looking ones, but this isn't bad at all for a SKS + red dot at 50 yards in my opinion. To be honest, I don't mind a few dings, adds to the character.. It's not like the SKS comes in perfect shape anyhow ;) ...and nothing a bit of matte black paint pen won't fix!
Looks like you modified the receiver. Do you think that this modification caused these ding marks on your rail?
Thanks for posting this video.

If anything it probably lessened the amount of marks. Doing that ejection port mod makes the shells eject less upwards and more to the right at the 2 o'clock position.
