Main Difference Between Rem 760 & 7600???

Sounds reasonable, evidently there was something wrong with it, and if that was a common problem over a million of them would not have been sold. But I'm glad it's gone, and won't be getting another any time soon.

To Gary D: While I am no expert on all gun problems, being a farm boy and engineer make me look at all mechanical things and figure out how they work. When I look at the trigger group on the 760/7600, there is an arm that comes up and holds the rails on the slide closed. That is what you release with the toggle/button to open and eject a live round when it is cocked. I would bet a liberal MP (not high enough value? okay, I will up it to a small Tim Horton coffee to increase the value) that the arm was incorrect in some way or did not come up high enough. Guntech will know for sure. The misfire is probably the bolt not fully rotated closed which would be the case if the "arm" did not come up all the way and lock it in place.

Beretta Boy: Thanks! Now I am Jonesing for the 7mm-08 and 257 Roberts in Maple to make the complete set of four!

The 760 was never known to jam when fed and operated properly. A friend got one as his first pump rifle and had some failures to eject and feed properly. A visit to the local gunsmith brought the lecture," Don't baby that thing, boy. You ain't going to break it, slam it back and forth!!!" No more trouble after that. The only case of feeding difficulties I've seen was cured by a new magazine.

this thread is mostly BS
The difference is the locking lugs - the 7600 locks like a bolt gun, (look at one) the 760 locks are almost like a very coarse thread (have a look) - both work fine. otherwise no difference
My preference is the 7600, but I have had both, and there were no issues with either
