2nd rifle (bottom) built on a PGW M15 and MAK tube gun kit and Magpul PRS.
Top was first built using a tweeked Rem 700 and prooved itself to have potential
in F class Open as a LR precision shooter last summer.
Both are single shot configurations in 6.5/308 Ackley 40 (260AI)
Next build is a repeater.
MAK Tube Gun Kits provides another stocking option for the precision rifle build and very adaptable to shooters needs.Easy switch barrel, switch butstock, switch forends.

Just need some warmer weather to break her in.

Very nice!
I'm not familiar with these. How accurate are they? Are they more accurate than a stock 700p or 10fp.

Well, no bedding issues, probably a aftermarket trigger, custom barrel, very advanced reloading skills...it will outshoot a stock 700p or 10FP. Also, the triggerman (ONT0001) is rock solid when it comes to superior performance.

Is there a place in Canada that carries these or do you need to import them? What's the approx. final cost for one of these guys (I know there's a lot of variables for a kit like this, but humor me...) minus optics?

If you already have a Rem 700 SA
KIT (single shot in black) ,you'll need to check with Kevin at MAK for availability and current pricing is 556 usd plus.Repeaters and Lefties are available.Colours are available and Kevin was even looking at cammo versions.
Magpul PRS is 320 I believe, cdn from Wolverine but accepts regular AR butstocks like I started with(see pic)
standard or 20 moa rail included.
will need AR buffer tube (10 or 20$) .
Chambered and fitted barrel? new -best check with your smith for prices
or you can use existing Rem barrel but kit does not use recoil lug.Can trim down existing lug so current factory barrel is ok to use.
No safety or bolt release needed or used.(can be adapted if required)
Bedding by Devcon or JB Weld ,a little patience and very little fitting.
Everything else is whatever options you want to add.
So in simplest terms, using existing barreled Rem 700 and trigger, just the cost of the kit,a buffer tube,an AR butstock and a package of JB Weld and you're GTG.Would recommend using your smith's services for trigger and lug mods.
Drop Kevin a line. He's getting used to hearing from Canadians now :)
