Making my own woodset ?

Hi

Here is the result of this morning work. Next is adjusting the center band, then the nose-cap, and last will be the final rounding/sanding of the stock.

Somewhere in this block of wood is a Lee Enfield stock

Fitting the trigger was the challenge. It sits a bit further than in the other stock I had, I think I will get back the double "clic" on the trigger, which is a good thing

Thanks for the comment

Raining outside all day, wife out with her friends, I lit a pipe and got to work. I would like to be done by the end of next week, deer hunting season begins and I will not have a lot of time during the weekends.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate

Getting there....

Hi

Tonight was wood-removal night. I found the weapon of choice to remove a lot of wood in short time

I spent the rest of the evening fitting and carving a bit more. I removed a bit too much wood on both side of the action. Just too bad, other than you and me no one will know...

Next will be some last pieces fitting (the small front metal plate just under the top of the nosecap) and I'll be sanding it and finishing. I have to strip the stock to bare wood also

I did some sanding, the only thing left at this point is to dismantle everything (again), sand the stock to bare wood, and apply the finish. I'll do an oil finish on this, I'll choose the oil tomorrow.

And I need a 10 round mag, if anyone has one doing nothing in a dark corner.....

It appears you won't need that piling swivel as the nosecap looks like it hasn't been drilled for one. But you will need a sling swivel to replace it. You can always use it fror a future project LOL.

Now someone needs to send him a sling swivel for the mid barrel band.
