I'm so fed up with mine I'm really considering selling it, maybe it's just the mags but it won't feed squat! I never get to go to the range but when I do I expect my gun to work. Ever since I got this kit I can't feed 2 rounds correctly! I'm really considering selling the whole damn thing. All 4 brand new mags won't feed squat, so if you have one of the older 10/22 steel receivers and want a gun that will work don't get this kit.
I'm at a point where if the right trade comes around I'm getting rid of it. I know all it needs is some tinkering but I have no time nor patience for that.
Sorry for venting but this kit has cost me more aggravation than any other gun I ever owned.
I'm with HiCal on this one. My 10/22 is one of the original, steel ones, and when I first took my Marauder-kitted gun out to the range, using the ProMag-supplied mag (plus several others I had), I blasted off over 300 rounds, with no problems at all. No FTE's no FTF's, etc. I've since bought another ProMag mag for it. The kitted gun is dead nuts accurate, as well.
I spent a LOT of time assembling the kit. I had it slightly wrong several times, and kept taking it apart & re-fitting it until I finally got it exactly right. It is, after all, a VERY tight fit on the receiver, and it's easy to get it just a tiny bit off. If that happens, the mag won't seat properly, and you'll have all kinds of feed problems. The fit is designed to be
extremely precise - we're talking 1/10ths of a m.m. here. Remember, the functioning of the mags
depends on a precise fit of the receiver into the kit. I suspect that most mag malfunctions are a result of a less-than-perfect install of the receiver, rather than a flaw in the mag design.
As HiCal says, try disassembly/reassembly. I'm willing to bet that will fix it. There are tons of people with Marauders and the consensus seems to be they're the greatest. Don't give up on it, you'll find the problem. Once you get it running, you'll LOVE the gun! Trust me, it's worth it!
