Still looking for the right No.4 bubba.
Alright, first post !
I finally picked up the milsurp I have been hunting for for a good two years (even before I obtained my PAL, I wanted this style of the Gewehr 98 but I couldn't find the right one or I just did not have the cash on hand to buy one of the $1k listed ones).
This one is a right beauty, only the rear sight, bolt, and front/rear trigger guard screws are mis-matched, everything else matches. The receiver was cold blued at one point and, to my amazement, it simply wiped off with no effort. The stock cartouches are simply amazing, look at the picture and you will agree as well!
Her serial puts her being made in early Spring, 1916.
Here are some shots of the important parts (Let me know if anyone is interested in other parts being featured):

Thanks guys, the rifle has the SA Finn stamp. The bore is a little dark but has good rifling, should shoot pretty well I think. The rifle has the proper 1919 Tula reciever with Finn sling swivels!
Mind if I ask where you plan on getting 7.62x54r? I'm kinda at a loss about where to turn with my new Mosin![]()
Still looking for the right No.4 bubba.
