............. Hope that helps?

Yes Sir, every little bit helps ... thanks partner .... :)

This morning, I had posted questions and the link to the 100+ pics (click here)http://imageevent.com/badgerdog/sniperriflesof########/1944model9130serial4321517 on the Mosin Collector's forum and got a very quick answer from Mr. Mosin himself, Vic Thomas ........... :D

Yes you have an authentic MN m91/30 PU sniper. It appears to be an original piece that has escaped most refurbes. The gun looks to be very nice and has a pretty rare leather sling. The scope appears to have been replaced at one time due to the rifles serial number being different on the mount facing. The mount is an Izhvesk made mount though. All in all I would say its a very nice wartime example of a PU. You did OK as its not a put together outside of the scope mount being replaced at one time.

I haven't had a chance to leave some follow up questions for him, but I'll do that later tonight. The first one that comes to mind is that I find it curious that the scope mount is electro-penciled with "346" and the rifle has "634" on top of the knoxform, as well as on the left butt side (another number 8987? is stroked out). Possibly a dyslexic scriber? :D :D

Just brought this home...

Not a Milsurp, but a Lever Action Model 94 Winchester 30/30 followed me home today. The serial number dates it to the 60's, and it was my Father in Laws.

I haven't fired it yet, but already like the feel of it, and with the new Hornday Ammo out for the lever actions, I have a feeling this is going to become my primary rifle/truck gun. :D

Picked up a Wodless Danish Return for the CMP's north store yesterday. Only the follower rod is not SA, it's BMB. I'll need to replace the hammer, saftey, gas cylinder and rear sight to "correct" the action for it's build date. The barrel is toast, muzzle is gone as well as the rifleing. I'll look for NIW SA barrel from the 50's or 60's.

Picked up a LE No 2 from a member , not matching but a great little plinker to teach the little guys with. Where did you get the Iltis from ?

Bought the Iltis at a government surpluss auction. $2200

They're getting rid of them at sales across the country to make room for the new G wagon. Most of these need work though. They're getting rid of the worst ones first, so you should be mechanically inclined. Looks like the majority of them are getting bought up by the military Jeep dealers. Looks like they're reselling them for $6000-9000. After the supply drys up I doubt if you could buy one for under $10k.

Sale dates and listings can be found at: http://icangroup.ca/

Theres some coming up at the Montreal location.

Another good site for info is http://iltis.ca
Don't believe everything on this site about licensing (propaganda). If you have a VIN, and original bill of sale from the auction you can register it as a passenger vehicle. I didn't have much trouble at all.

Bought it as a companion for the M38A1

Maybe if enough CGN members get one we could start a new forum, organize off-road rallys etc. :)

Haha sidvicious, I was there and saw you buy it and yep, you looked like you really needed it :D but hey, if it was about *need* then we wouldn't be able to have any of the fun. Besides, two anus' may be useful :p

So far this month I have added a scope to my M-14, a butt load of ammo and my newest addition, a 1941 SVT-40. The wood is very good and the bore is outstanding. I have yet to take it out and won't have a chance here for another week (damn work!).

- That is it for now... but there is still time during this month!

Well, add to that a Yugo SKS and parts! Waiting for delivery then I can add a few pics.
