Mare's Leg

SImilar, yes. The 8.5 shotties are non-res 100% WITH A FULL STOCK and or a legal length over 26" / 660mm.

With a pistol grip becomes a grey area, and as yet has not been tried in court AFAIK.

This gun is manufactured at a OAL of 23-24", as advertised anyways, so how that becomes non-res I'll never know. I trust our dealers to be sure, BUT I have a very serious caveat about this one. To say it is non-res is one thing, but before I buy one I want to know the rules.

I've got the short shottie laws down pat, non-restricted CX4's, been there done that, understand the Tavor, etc. This one just makes no sense to me unless it is over 26" total length from the factory, or or trusted CFC / RCMP FRT Team is getting more relaxed.

So again I ask................Why would it be non-restricted? Please? :)

Restrcited Firearms:

•A handgun that is not a prohibited firearm;
•A semi-automatic, centre-fire firearm with a barrel length less than 470 mm that is not a prohibited firearm;
•A firearm that can fire after being reduced, by folding, telescoping or otherwise, to an overall length of less than 660 mm; and
•Any firearm prescribed under the Criminal Code regulations to be restricted (including some long guns).

The only thing I can think of that the RCMP could pull is labelling them "handguns" like those shorty shotguns

So if the avenue taken to address this firearm is that it is sub-660mm and rigid (so to speak)...and this flies with the RCMP / CFC power that be......we may have a completely new avenue to pursue for non-restricted status of future / upcoming firearms?

Dear Santa(CanAm):

I have been somewhat of a good boy this year, and plan to in the next two years. Can you PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE look into bringing these in in the next couple of years?

thanks

Aaron.

Here is some info for you

[URL="http://www.jbcustom.com[/URL], this guy manufactures them and here is a quote from there site (which is one of the worst sites I have seen in a long time).

Our 1892 MARE’S LEG is now offered in two different designs we have the standard version which is blued and the takedown which is case colored both hold six rounds of ammo and are made in Italy by ARMI SPORT-CHIAPPA exclusively for us and have a 12” bbl. Walnut grip stocks, big loop lever, saddle ring metal grip cap, 23 INCH OVERALL length front and rear sights and built brand new as a hand gun each comes with the ATF letter of approval currently in calibers 44-40, 44 magnum, and 45 colt we may add other calibers next year. Such as 357 mag. Price on standard model is $1695.00 and the takedown $1995.00 enjoy the pictures and give us a call THANKS DIAMOND JIM

So I guess there will be no .410 and it would be a restricted pistol. But I would take one in .357 if it comes available.

A trapper length JW-21 with a 14"-16" barrel would probably be easier for Norinco to produce.
They could include two butt stocks. One standard and one shortened to bring the overall length to 26 inches or so.
Drilled and tapped for peep sights would be good as well.

a jb custom might be 23 inch but a chiappa arms is 24" as well as a puma so can be NONRestricted

ETA is they are here already and have been for quite some time, just not through a site sponsor so I guess it is O.K. to post it. Doc Rowland's currently has them as far as I know.

Awesome looking gun, and it would sure be fun. I have recently developed a lever fetish myself. LOL

But Holy Hell!!! These things are gonna run us around 2g's at least.

Am I the only one who would rather have an XCR, or a Swiss Arms! A little more money yes but alot more gun for the money.

Why I am I paying so much for something I could make for $400 and a hacksaw??

Or just buy an antique Webley for alot less.

Sorry but for that price I am out.
