If hunting in an area with fresh bear sign, it’s a rule I ignore until I reach the truck. Internet mall-cops can label me however they please.

My brother in law was coming back to his truck after an afternoon hunt a few years ago, the conservation officer was waiting at his truck and informed him that it was five minutes after legal hunting time, (he misjudged the time it would take to get back to his vehicle) his rifle was seized and he had to pay a $150 fine and appear in court. Technically in N.B. if you lean a loaded firearm against your vehicle you can be charged with having a loaded firearm in a vehicle.

Nor any other province for that matter, unless regulated under the the wildlife act or local by laws. I'm pretty sure they can shoot coons at night in ON, so it's not a blanket prohibition.
I said it’s not a stupid rule, meant to expand.... it’s a stupid law... The point I was driving at is that we do have some stupid laws, and some of us do fight them through proper channels.... Not being willing to just defy them because we don’t like them and don’t want to be fined etc doesn’t mean we like them...
Btw, I agree... no atv’s until noon is a very stupid rule.... Is this only on public land?
